More about the hotel
Very average
Don't let these pictures fool you, this hotel is exactly what you would expect for around $50/night. The rooms and common areas are in need of maintenance and upkeep. Our towel bar was falling off the wall. The cleanliness of the room was just okay; I found some hairs in the bathroom and on our supposedly clean towels. Ceiling tiles in the breakfast room were falling down. The only good thing about the breakfast offerings was the waffle makers. We stayed for two nights, I wouldn't want to stay any longer than that.
Saturday, July 18, 2020 stay
We spent one night at the Quality Inn Midtown on our way to Tybee Island. The price was affordable and the reviews were very good. The room was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was amazing. We felt very safe and secure at the Quality Inn. My problem was with the lobby staff. I've only stayed once at this establishment, so I don't know if that particular person is just normally mean or if she was just having a bad night. I made the reservation using the telephone number listed on the hotel's website, which I think was the reservation office for Choice Hotels. I requested a late check out prior to finalizing the reservation. I was told that we could stay until 12:30, but no later. We were fine with that. When I arrived to the establishment, I was in-line behind another guest that was having a very difficult time with the lobby staff. She appeared to be extremely combative and would constantly interrupt the gentlemen in front of me. Again, I didn't know the situation and I didn't blame her. I waited, patiently, for at least 20 minutes while the two of hashed it out. I would like to mention that unlike the clerk, the guest in no was combative or raised his voice. While standing there, another gentlemen walked in and proceeded to jump line in front of me when the person in front of me left. The clerk did reprimand him, but still helped him before helping me. She was very flippant with the guest and sent him on his way. Finally, it was my turn. She was friendly enough to me until I mentioned the late check-out and she went off. Again, become extremely combative. She said no one had the authority to give late check-out except lobby clerk. She continued to reprimand me, interrupted me with every question or explanation. It was very demeaning and frustrating. I would stay at the establishment again based on the amenities and cleanliness; however, this particular desk clerk needs to rethink her disposition if she is to be the first face guests will face when checking in.
Great deal, nice people, good for dogs.
We stopped here with our 2 dogs. The rooms are big and clean and the beds are very comfortable. A/C was great for the hot 4th of July weekend! We saw it said pet friendly so we just took our dogs in. Well, we messed up by not telling them because they have pet rooms and non pet rooms. They had to tell us this but did it in a very nice way and we worked out what was a bit of a major error on our part. Dogs were happy and we were very happy with the accommodations. If you have dogs we highly recommend this hotel... just be sure to tell them first!
Another great stay in Midtown!
Our large running group again bought out almost the entire hotel for a weekend. The rooms are always clean and well maintained, the staff friendly and quick to help with any need. Can't wait to come back next year! Would love to see the club open back up!!
Friendly Staff, Great Breakfast
I was part of a group reunion at the hotel and they were very accommodating for our group. The staff were all friendly, from check in to check out. The rooms were clean. The pool looked nice, but too cold when I was there. They also have a solid breakfast: eggs, bacon, assorted breads and pastries, but best of all, a Belgian waffle maker, the sign you know you picked the right hotel. Will visit again.
