Cheap and Small.
Really small! Nano-bathrooms, the TV needs repair and you can actually hear the whole floor once the walls are freaking thin! In the other hand you're in an organized area and can easily find anything you need within a short walk. Avoid it if you don't like the urban nightlife though...
old but ok
arrived late at night at the BH airport and was looking online for a cheap hotel. the hotel was ok, the interior old but clean. even a tv in the room. internet was not working and there were a lot of people in the streets. the frontdesk told me its always like this, a lot of young people drinking. didnt have the feeling of being in a dangerous area though. the breakfast menu was small and not so well sorted. you can definitely find a better hotel for a lower price in BH but for 1 night it was ok
Boulevard Express Experience
The hotel is located in a great area with good choice of bars and restaurants. The hotel has no parking and leaving the car parked on the street at night can be a problem (risk of theft and/or traffic ticket). The breakfast is good and the service of the staff are excellent. The room is a bit noisy and the facilities are old. The internet is terrible, constantly oscillating signal. This hotel is recommended for tourists but not for the business trip.
Average, noisy, clean
Unfortunately I had a room facing the street. The noise from the bars below was akin to a jet aircraft taking off continuously. The windows are only single glazed so the noise permeates easily. Also, Brazil had won a football game that night so the whole place was just one massive party that didn't finish until 5am, when the street cleaners came out to make more noise. So, request a room at the back. If you want to enjoy the really vibrant bars and restuarants, you're in the right place as you are literally right on top of them. Other than that, the place was clean and tidy, the bed was comfy. Rooms are basic - don't expect a room safe. Internet was OK only - 3 bars of signal out of 5 and just about fast enough. Breakfast was OK - a buffet arrangement in a small area on the ground floor. Not luxury, not awful, but average.
Good location, not so good accommodation
I booked a night at this hotel over the internet. It is located in a very nice location, near Savassi square, where you can find several bars to have a drink. The building is very old, and rooms are really small. I choose a double bed room, which probably was 3 meters by 3.5 meters. Small bathroom with tiny shower. I was not able to get a good rest because it was during the FIFA World Cup, and the noise in the street was really annoying. If you are short on budget, and don't mind to sacrifice some rest, you can stay here. However, I will skip it next time.
