La Baia Hotel

We were welcomed by James, the owner, who took so much care that we were COVID compliant, and explained everything. The room was really lovely, warm even in the depth of winter, and an en-suite. Ideally situated overlooking the North Bay and only minutes walk down the cliff to the beach. And only 5 minutes walk to the centre of town with excellent eateries. We visited Florios pizzeria which was recommended by James, and it was absolutely fantastic, brilliant Florios Special Pizza and great starters. Free parking right outside. Full English breakfast really good and hearty and all locally sourced. James went off in the afternoon to collect the local produce from the farmer. Really good, enjoyed our stay immensely and we really would have liked to stay longer. We’ll certainly be back

We enquired about a New years eve booking for our family . Jamie has been so helpful from start to finish he went above and beyond to help us with any questions and queries we asked but due to Covid-19 we are now unable to travel . We have travelled to Scarborough for holidays for years and in all honesty have stayed at the Grand You get what you pay for and the coldness of their rooms prompted us to look elsewhere We found La Baia hotel and this will be our goto hotel for many years to come I will explain as for value for money you cannot go wrong staying at La Baia. Firstly, the covid safety procedures put in place are second to none and all areas of a guests stay have been thought about to self service rooms, staggered breakfast times and drinks delivered to rooms The location has some stunning views over the north bay and very close to the church/anne brontes grave. We also found it more of a central location to reach the different parts of Scarborough. Beach/town/peasholme park. The room we stayed in was a king room with a partial sea view. This meant a top floor room and there was nothing partial about the view...Sublime. I dare say a bay fronted view would give a front on view of the sea but we got to see the church/sea coming in at the north side plus an overlook of the old town. Fabulous. Our room had great decor and was light and airy with all the facilities you could require. The en-suite bathroom shower also was much larger than we are used to and we could both fit comfortably. Breakfast - the La Baia has a silver award for breakfast, how it is not gold is beyond me. Simply put OUTSTANDING. Each of our 4 day stay we had a well catered, consitent and high quality breakfast. Juices/tea/coffee, cereals/fruit salads/yoghurts and then a hot choice. The La baia full english breakfast MUST be tried. Each day we had our eggs a different way poached/scrambled/boiled and fried. There is nothing to fault it really is that good. Finally, the hosts - the Davies family, main point of contact being Jamie but you will see them all in some context across the hotel. Safety and what they can do to enhance your stay is the order of the day and nothing is too much trouble. Provided with a map and personal guide directions to places we had pre booked, a personal heater for our room ontop of the central heating as my wife suffers from a blood condition. They all rembered what was discussed a day or two previously and on the last day Elaine provided my wife with lemon marmalade to come home with, a pleasant touch If you read all what I have written or skippes to the end its all academic.... Get La Baia booked

Just returned from our 2nd visit this year to La Baia Hotel, we've had a lovely relaxing 5 nights and 5 very tasty breakfasts, nothing too much trouble for the staff, very clean and comfortable rooms, everything you need right there, Very good Covid19 policy, nothing to worry about. Thanks Jamie Tony and Elaine for your hospitality we will see you again next year.

Jamie and his family are clearly passionate about providing an excellent service. Covid safety was taken seriously. Location is ideal, with several catering options within easy walking distance. Value is good, since they don't raise prices when it's very busy. Get a small discount by booking direct with their website.
