Nice space in 2 bedroom suite, Not the cleanest.
Stayed a night in this hotel based on pool availability and covid restrictions, one hour pool use per family. Booked a 2 bedroom suite which has a good amount of space. The hotel staff was extremely nice and accommodating to requests although we requested a high floor and were placed on the first. The room could have been cleaned better, found a hot wheels under a table in the living room in plain sight and hairs on the floor of the bathroom. Beds are relatively firm so uncomfortable for us. The fireplace in the 2 bedrooms only runs for 15 minutes but then quit working by the next am, notified the front desk but did not request a fix as we were leaving soon. Coffee in the rooms horrible, unsure if coffee maker was functioning properly but looked like tea and didn't taste like coffee at all. Was a little disappointed the buffet wasn't available(covid, not hotel's fault) but ordered local to-go breakfast and enjoyed the juices and coffee offered for breakfast. Lastly, had an issue with using a gift card and paying the rest on my card. Was assured that it was taken care of but on review of my bank statement after the visit showed I was charged the full amount instead of the amount minus the gift card. Have contacted the hotel and was assured it was resolved and I should be seeing a refund shortly, Will update. Overall for a quick visit to Schaumburg I thought with the price it was a good option for one night, any more nights I would definitely book somewhere with more comfortable beds but the space and kitchen are always an appeal.
Great Staff and safe, clean environment
We moved to this hotel from a different Schaumburg hotel that wasn’t following proper safety measures during covid. We were so happy that not only was this hotel clean, all of the employees were wearing masks. Kristy and Carrie went over the top in making sure we were welcomed into a safe and clean environment. Thank you so much for all of your help! When we can travel for leisure again, Marriott has gained a loyal customer. Until then, we will use Marriott for all business needs and encourage our friends and coworkers to do the same. Thank You!!!!
Room ok. Pool, not ok.
This location currently has reduced staff because of COVID which the hotel tells its guests at check in. Our room was ok but I have had better rooms at other Residence Inn. With COVID causing a reduction in staff, I will let the room slide a little. Lots of dust in the bathroom exhaust fan and mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. My biggest issue is in the pool area. Guests are told that the pool area is cleaned every 2 hours. However with the amount of hair and other debris on the pool deck yesterday afternoon and this morning I don't think that is happening. It was very gross. If you need a place to crash for the night this Residence Inn is ok. Just avoid the pool.
The best Marriott experience
Kudo's to the staff at RI Woodfield..... From Valerie and Laura at the desk, to the kitchen crew and housekeepers, the staff was very professional and genuinely concerned about our well-being during our stay. We were in town for the care of an elderly relative, and the hotel made our stay very comforting during a very difficult time. The GM should be commended and proud of the work they all do. Thank You
Cosy and comfortable suites at a good price point
Spent four nights here in early January and enjoyed sitting out the inclement weather in comfort. Well equipped kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom with plenty of storage for clothes, cases and groceries. Fifth floor suite was very quiet, even when the storm-force winds were blowing. Handily situated for the Woodfield mall and lots of other stores. Good range of lamps and lighting as well as two television sets. Basic free wi-fi was fine for streaming movies etc. Breakfast menu changed every day and all the staff were helpful - from the kitchen team to the reception crew. One of those places where you felt nothing was too much trouble. Didn't try the indoor pool or laundry facilities but it was good to know they were on-site and available.
