Anniversary
We came to celebrate our anniversary and it was wonderful. The front desk brought us a bottle of wine in a bucket and 2 glasses, I thought that was so nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff was great.
Broken furniture, no lamp in room
The room was large and clean. The lightning was awful. No lights in the sitting area of the suite. Very dim lighting in the kitchenette area. No lighting above the whirlpool, only two desk lamps by the bed. No lighting on the desk. Fan in bathroom sounds like it's diesel engine powered, very loud. One HAVC unit non-functional. Chairs in sitting area where torn and broken. The TV was a reasonable size for a normal room, but in a large suite it was pretty hard to see from the bed. It wouldn't have taken much to make this a fantastic room, but hotel management obviously doesn't care. We asked about the poor lighting and were told that each room has 2 lamps.
Aweful
Fecal matter on the upholstered ottoman chair which transferred to portions of the bed. It was in a area people sit in the chair including myself so I had to make a trip to the cleaners to wash my clothes. The bedding cover and sheets were tattered and ripped in numerous places. There is a external sliding door which remains locked and visibly blows outside air into the room as seen from the moving curtain, (it was 14 degrees outside). As a result the room heater can not keep up. I would expect more from a Wyndham property and when I brought it up to an employee she said the property used to be something else. I won’t elaborate on the stained carpet, stained bed spread if you could call it that, or the peeling walls and curtain with various cigarette burns on it. I was in town for a doctors visit and this just added insult to injury.
Dirty towels and no hot water
We just checked out of this hotel after rating there for a week on business. Where do I start 1. The hotel towels have a greyish black color and they are so course and stiff I am sure I got a few scrapes from using them. When we spoke to the hotel fro t desk about the dirty looking towels she immediately told us that the towels are not dirty, that’s just how they loo after going through their laundry system and a lot of people have mentioned this. Well here is an idea. How about u find out what the other thousands of hotels in the country are doing to keep their towels from turning a dirty color after going through the laundry?.. I have never stayed at another hotel where the towels were this color and I am in a different one every week, so I know this cannot be the norm. 2. The water in the room was cold and would not get warm no matter how long u left in on. This is Chicago in November when there is snow on the ground. We complained about this and the maintenance person came up and was able to get hot water the first day but after that it was right back to being cold. I had to do a quick run in and out just to get a shower at night. 3. The sink in the bathroom was stopped up when we went and it took two days to get someone to come and pour some draino. Should this be on a room checklist somewhere after a checkout? 4 the pillows are about half the standard pillow size. My head kept falling off the pillow at night. Lol. It was the craziest thing. I would not tell anyone not to visit the hotel but I would advise the hotel owners to put some best practices in place for maintenance and PLEASE FIX THE TOWEL ISSUE. They are dirty looking and rough on the skin.
It’s a dump.
this property is very outdated, generally dirty, and one member of the staff was extremely aggressive and threatening. If you are looking for a clean room, and a peaceful stay, then this is not the place to choose.
