Very cute Inn, room was not clean, masks optional

The location and price was great for our stay! Seaside is a cute little beach town that is easy to walk around and check things out. It was nice to have a spacious room a d find a dog friendly spot. I was very disappointed when I went to make coffee in the morning and noticed only decaf was available, then I noticed the coffee mugs had old coffee in them and the coffee machine was full of a used coffee filter. I mentioned this to the front desk and I was given a half hearted apology, I was expecting some kind of discount or solution not just “sorry”. After finding the dirty cups I wasn’t very confident in the rest of the cleaning practices in the Inn. I was also surprised to see so many guests and staff maskless, I was under the impression Oregon had a statewide mask order in effect. I know my complaints are likely one offs which is why I still gave 3 stars, I would consider coming back and giving them another chance.
Kyra, the receptionist, actually demanded our address and announced our room number in front of a line of people.😳

I was shocked and horrified when Kyra, the receptionist, not only demanded my address in front of a line of guests but actually announced my room number - in front of them - and demanded my address and phone number. When I asked her why she was doing that and did she realize the extent and degree of identity theft, she was oblivious. She actually told me that they do this all the time. I can't imagine announcing a room number and asking personal information in front of a line of people. I was horrified. I would not recommend this particular place unless you want to risk having your identity stolen or some other ill-fated problem.... Other than that, it's a lovely endroit and very well maintained.
Would stay again for a night or weekend.

Sweet Inn that is close to the beach and downtown. Breakfast was simple eggs, toast & fruit but really nice service and the staff was friendly. The room was the perfect size for us just staying over one night passing through to California. Would stay again
Hotel management needs better planning

Pre-communication was good... It was pouring on and off with hail the day of. I am thankful the staff let me check in an hour earlier than the usual time, it makes a difference. The overall stay experience was quiet and pleasant. It is located really close to the beach (3 minutes walk). Booking says check-in at 4 pm but after my arrival, I found out check-in was at 3 pm. Management needs to make sure communication is consistent and accurate. What I did not appreciate was my breakfast experience. Breakfast was promised 8 AM to 10 AM as long as breakfast menu/request gets submitted (by room number) before 8 PM the night before, which I did... The dining room was packed the morning of and there wasn't a systematic way to let the kitchen know I was ready for breakfast. It was around 8:30 and I saw another guest standing outside of the dining room. She told me kitchen asked her to wait outside and didn't want to take her room number for the breakfast. She warned me kitchen's response was unfriendly. I experienced the same - frustrated chef refusing me. Like the other guest, I was asked to wait outside and he refused to take my info. Judging by how busy it was, I was not ready to stand outside the dining room for >1 hr just to let the kitchen know my room # was ready for breakfast. Me and the other guest went to front desk and the lady took our info and promised to let us know when breakfast was ready. I waited for more than an hour, around 950 am when the food was delivered to my room. I appreciated the chef personally delivering the food to my room. I gave him a generous tip as an appreciation. While my experience with the chef was unpleasant, food was yummy. Ultimately I don't think it was the chef who needed to take responsibility for this. There were probably about 20-30 people swarmed into the kitchen/dining room around the same time and there was only 1 person (aka chef) responsible for taking orders, cooking and serving/cleaning up. I would be frustrated and overwhelmed too if I were in his shoe. The management really needs to have more effective management and to arrange more manpower to support the chef during peak hours. Otherwise, guests like myself not planning to return to this inn because, no matter the pleasant room experience, as a guest, I don't like to be raised voice at for something promised to me (breakfast 8-10 am) and had to postponed my itinerary because breakfast was >1 hr late due to poor planning and ineffective management of the hotel. I was trapped in some bad weather after due to the hour delay. I can pay the same amount of money elsewhere with better experience.

I booked here a specific room which had a big old fashion tub, because it was my mothers birthday. I brought expensive bath salts and oils and the tub leaked. Couldn’t get the water to stay in. Lost all the bath salt. Also tub not secure and dangerous. The room was dark and tiny. Even though outside was cold room was hot and the fan didn’t work. The place is much smaller than the pictures make it look. This was not a horrible place we were just disappointed and the price was high. Breakfast was ok but we choose to eat out the second night. We stayed the 2nd night in a different room with a normal bath and shower which was better. Still small and nothin special. The lady at front desk was nice. She gave a 10% discount for each night which really wasn’t much considering the cost.
