Not a Romantic Getaway Destination

The view and hiking trails are breath taking. The room however was not, there was hair in the shower drain, something sticky on the toilet handle, and the bathroom sink didn't drain. The rooms are small and the restroom backs up to a walking path. We decided not to stay 15 minutes after check in and were charged for the entire day. I really would not recommend the Sky Ranch Lodge.
Location is Everything

We found Sky Ranch on Trip Advisor and have to say - this place fit all our needs. Simply furnished, microwave, refrigerator and a VIEW TO DIE FOR. Our room was facing Thunder Mountain with an outside porch. It was breathtaking. The staff was pleasant and accommodating , the grounds are beautiful. A wedding was held each day ( lucky bride)! There is an airport vortex rock and trail from the motel which we took to watch the sunrise. Met others from different places, made new friends and snapped fantastic pictures. We definitely recommend Sky Ranch for your stay in beautiful Sedona.
Cyber Deal for Rim View King Deluxe Not Honored; Room downgraded without telling me
Reviewed 21 october, 2021
I jumped at the chance to get a rim view king deluxe room (with a patio) during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. When I checked in, I had been downgraded to king room with no patio or place to entertain my friends who were also staying at the hotel. The reason I was given for the downgrade was that a king deluxe rim view had some plumbing issues and was being repaired. No one had called me to tell me of the downgrade; if someone had called, I would have changed the dates of my arrival to when they had a rim view king deluxe room available. When I asked the manager to honor my reservation for another date, the manager refused, saying that it was a one time deal. I never got the one time deal for a rim view king deluxe room that I had reserved. I can only assume that I was bumped from a rim view room because I was paying much less than the current rate. I believe that not getting the room I reserved and not honoring the reservation was unethical. I still want my one time deal for the rim view king deluxe. We have been staying at Sky Ranch when we come to Sedona for over twenty years, celebrating many New Years' Eve with friends there. If the manager won't honor my one time cyber deal for a rim view king deluxe room, I won't stay at Sky Ranch again. And my friends won't either.
We keep coming back!

This was our second time to stay at the Sky Ranch Lodge in Sedona, AZ and we're already planning our next trip. For us, we love the garden setting and the views of the valley bellow as well as the mountains above depending on where you are standing. Our room was excellent and we had a patio overlooking the garden. The last time we were on the "rim" and we overlooked the rock formations which was very dramatic. We enjoyed both room locations for their unique features. Watching the sunset with a glass of wine purchased from the on site bar is a daily ritual to enjoy. The staff were very charming and helpful.. We all understand that because of the pandemic, there is a shortage of support staff but the guys at the front desk never showed their frustration. They were always hospitable and accommodating. It's a great place to stay because of the setting and the staff , and also because just a few steps away is the Mesa Grill at the Sedona Airport. We did not have to drive to eat at a great restaurant, We just had to walk over , eat a great meal and walk back while enjoying the beautiful scenery. I highly recommend the Sky Ranch Lodge for the traveler who wants a private but friendly setting above the hustle and bustle of downtown Sedona.
excellent location and beautiful grounds

Loved the location - away from the town but close - great place for stargazing at night - the grounds are very beautiful with a great area for sunset - nice pool - the rooms were spacious and looked new - our only issues were that we did not receive any cleaning service despite staying there for 4 nights - we had to get our own towels and empty our garbage - get soap and toilet paper - a little disappointing for sure - also the volume on our TV did not really work and even after getting the TV replaced it never really worked - also a little disappointing - however the good outweighed the bad and we would stay here again for the other reasons that were mentioned
