Wonderful Break
We stayed here after a day at longleat it was suppose to be our wedding day but Covid got us. So lovely and peaceful, beautiful grounds comfortable beds. Only downfall was breakfast it was not nice and served on paper plates
Perfect stay
Short stay with the family. Accomodation was perfect and spotless, beautiful surroundings and really helpful and nice staff. Can't wait to return next year. Longleat safari is only a 10 minute drive from the location and is well worth visiting.
Average - wouldn’t returned
Good: Lovely location with good walks available Friendly staff Hot and powerful shower Bad: Breakfast - delivered to the room which I can understand because of Covid but I did think it would come on a plate (restaurants manage this so why can’t they?). Instead it arrived in a takeaway box inside a bag with plastic cutlery... the ‘bread’ was soggy and was overall very unappetising. Breakfast - guest information said the breakfast room would be open at 8am for drinks and cereals etc so we were quite surprised to find we couldn’t get a hot drink for another half an hour - given there’s no shops nearby I would expect to be able to get a hot drink at this time. Breakfast - we didn’t stay in the breakfast room to eat, just to get a drink but in the few minutes we were there, there was limited social distancing with everyone just crowding around the breakfast area which I must admit, was a poor show to say the least. Juice in cartons, no fruit, no yoghurt, really?? Pillows - like a brick, had no plumpness to them and need to be replaced. Car park - there needs to be some lighting on the way from the car park back to the rooms. We were out for dinner and got back when it was dark and feel there should really be some lights lining the path and steps. ***I’d also just like to warn people that the hotel and staff have links to Universal Medicine. People have previously referred to the hotel as being part of a cult and I found this to be true online but too late to cancel and get a refund unfortunately - I wouldn’t have stayed had I known this because I don’t agree with their teachings etc. Could also be the reason behind their no alcohol policy. Overall, I wouldn’t return and felt like it was quite expensive for the night we had.
Beautiful location. Not great after that
First of all the location is idyllic. Its a beautiful house in lovely grounds. For some reason there is no ceiling in the bathroom just a stud wall between the sleeping area and the bathroom. This is not ideal. The bed was without doubt the most uncomfortable i've slept on. When we told reception they said that they were pleased so they could sort it out for the next guest.... . Cool. Breakfast was nice but it was delivered in a bag with plastic cutlery. I know covid is messing things up but restaurants seem to manage and a rogue plastic fork prong in your eggs really helped after the not sleeping situation. Its a shame because the evening before we were discussing bringing the family down for a few days, that talk quickly evaporated.
Not honest.
I stayed at your hotel just before the lockdown started, the place was pleasant enough, rooms were nice but no windows, didn't eat there and didn't want alcohol as i visited a local pub for food and drink. What bothers me is you ignore every persons comment about the cult ? are you associated to universal medicine or not ? straight question. If yes people deserve to know if they book a room with you they're putting money in the pocket of the crazy tennis player.
