Get what you pay for but so much potential!!!
Opinión escrita el 26 de Septiembre de 2021
Me and my friend are currently staying here and this is our last night. This hotel has massive potential but not a clue how to utilise it. The staff are rude, they have no respect, especially for UK guests. They often let German guests walk around with no mask and not using a glove for food, which is unacceptable. The drinks need improving dramatically. Being all inclusive they should have at least 6 cocktails to choose from and actually ensure that fizzy drinks are fizzy and not flat. Food needs improving, not a lot of variety. Gyros at lunch was really nice though. I hate to say it but I don’t get this hype with “Dona” we met her once and it wasn’t anything memorable. Again she appears to love anyone who isn’t English. The pool didn’t seemed to get clean. Entertainment try hard and we found it enjoyable. They are massively understaffed. Management don’t know what they are doing. So much potential but not a clue what to do! Get someone in to sort it out and you will be fine. Had a influx of Germans and they just took over and the staff could cope at all! Rooms okay but hardly left a bath matt which was very frustrating and rooms not cleaned just beds made and fresh towels left.
Excellent hotel in a great position x

Stayed here for a week in mid September and very pleased with value for money. As with all holidays how good you rate them often depends on how much you pay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All inclusive food was generally very good, everyday you had a good selection to chose from. Yes there are some dishes that are there everyday buy plenty of new ones one too. 3 themed nights per week, Greek and Asian were good , Italian needs improving ! You can dine in the A La Carte restaurant once per week. It alternates between a Fish restaurant and a Greek restaurant. Menu is limited, fish was a set 4 course meal and Greek you could only chose the main dish BUT the starters were amazing (see photos). Hotel is only 300 meters from a great beach so no need to walk very far. This beach has a good beach bar/restaurant too. Taxi rank is 2 mins wak down the road , 10 euros gets you into Rhodes town. Bus stop is there too if you want the cheaper option. Kallithea springs is 3km down the road, easily walkable early in the day , then 8 euro taxi back. Evening entertainment was simple but it was end of season and under Covid conditions so could be better in prime season. Pools are niche and clean . Really can fault this hotel. Only thing to look out for is that not all the rooms have been refurbished so its luck as to whether you get a new nice bathroom or a 1980's bathroom. When you book it will probably state 'main building' room BUT i think it does this for all bookings , we had that but both rooms we were offered were in outside blocks. Also check in is at 3pm regardless of an early flight. We left out cases and hit the pool for a few hrs whilst waiting for the room. Would I go there again - YES definitely.....for the right price '-)
The worst experience
Opinión escrita el 19 de Septiembre de 2021
This hotel and its staff is the worst experience I have ever had.
The staff does not have any manners in communication with the guests. They do not speak normaly and politely, they communicate in a very rude and aggressive way. That is not right. Really, guys.
Another minus is for drinks. Its all inclusive, but drinks are terrible, its impossible to drink them. For money the make better ones.
one more - the hotel has strict rules due to the covid situations and that is great, but, the staff does not follow them... They shout at the guests to follow the rules, but what about the staff!!!
Rooms are terrible as well...
I will not come back here and I will not recommend to others. No way...
Great Expectations !!

Firstly - Virginia Family Resort is that - very much a family oriented hotel complex for those with young kids & they do do this well.
It’s also a bright, clean mainly modern hotel complex.
But the great expectations I personally had were missed.
The food is very basic, bland and not authentic Greek, not that I expected an ‘all inclusive’ to be like a proper taverna, but even the “A la Carte” Greek night / menu was more a la laa laa.
The food was really so bad the only saving grace was the fesh pizza ( lunch / snack menu), the fresh pancakes (breakfast) & salads ( well in Greece a minimum is a decent Greek salad)- I lot of the other food was low grade, very cheap bulk buy - school dinner vibe & so bland & often too greasy.
The anticipated entertainment of ‘Greek Night’ ‘Arabic Night’ etc… with proper Greek dancers and musicians (there was a planned Greek night cancelled because of rain - 5 minutes of spitting rain) and having watched videos of the recent dancers , belly dancers abs fire eaters etc… I was really looking forward to be entertained but was in the end low rent karaoke, music quizzes and bingo.
We paid extra for the accommodation with private pool - we had already unpacked & settled in before we realised the our pool had dozens of small tiles missing and all gathered up at the bottom of the pool ( unusable & dangerous) - at the time all the 4 private pool rooms were full.
The accomodation itself was nice, spacious and clean - the cleaning team did a great job :)
There are trips available though the hotel itself but not always as expected - nor did the person selling the trips have any depth of knowledge, nice lady but needs to be clear - as the main trip we booked only visited some of the places on the list & the driver didn’t explain either until late in the day.
TIP double check that what you are buying is what you are getting on trips or at least research & book independently.
The staff in the main dining areas were not the happiest or most welcome bunch & looked miserable & that came across clearly & gave a negative vibes - so different to my many experiences of Greece.
But not all negative - a big thank you to ‘Nikos’ who served us in the ‘Greek restuarant’ a la carte - he was friendly and cheerful.
The main pool was great and spacious plentiful sun loungers etc… & on the whole the music played was good & chilled mix of 80’s and more recent.
The main bar staff were good and the main bar next to reception light & airy - comfy seats, great for wools watching.
The all inclusive drinks menu is extremely limited indeed.
All in all it’s a pleasant place - clean & spacious - but very lacking in quality especially the food & drinks - if this were to be your first and only experience of Greece - you’d be as far from authentic as possible tbh.
Thank god for the trips out - we independently did - especially the mindblowing Rhodes Old Town (Mama Sofia restuarant is as authentic and quality Greek cuisine as you can get.
Symi island, Anthony Quinn Bay and a few others are well worth the visit too.
But keep a visit to the Seven Springs Waterfalls trip (do not go in the tunnel if claustophobic or scared of the dark) or indeed the ‘valley of butterflies’ (though both I’m
sure better in autumn or early spring).
Taxis are very good value at only 10 euro one way into Rhodes Old Town / Port. (From the taxi rank 2 mins walk away or 13.5 euros from hotel).
It’s with sadness that my ‘Great Expectations’ weren’t met on almost every level & hence the 2 stars (even though we were asked to give 5 stars by the promotion person).
Definitely, it’s more for kids or young family’s or indeed if you don’t mind a basic all inclusive.
the best service 5 stars from Dona
