This place is awful. I made last minute reservations online and they charged over $60 what I was told. I tried calling and was connected to a real person one time who claimed to be a third-party business that had nothing to do with booking. I called several more times and the phone rang and rang. We went to check in around 11:30pm and the front desk was closed. I'm talking metal gate pulled down over the desk and not a soul in sight. The door that *should* have been locked and opened only with a room key was not locked. We walked right in. There was a TOILET in a box in the "lobby," if you can even call it that. We tried calling a few more times but still couldn't reach anyone. We then went across the parking lot to another hotel and was informed by their concierge that this hotel was "sketch." As of now, I still have not spoken to a person and have not been refunded the $230 I paid to stay here even though I was not able to check in.

I wish I could review the room….. after needing a last minute hotel for a concert when our plans fell through, we booked a room here. It was expensive, as expected with a busy weekend but we needed somewhere to stay. We were so excited to get to the hotel, we finally arrived before midnight mind you, to find no one was working. The gates were shut at the desk, no on call number, nothing. So what are we supposed to do? We can’t even check in and there is no easy way to call anyone to ask about a refund or anything. I get places are short staffed but what hotel doesn’t have a front desk/night manager ON A WEEKEND. We were exhausted and had to drive 3 hours, out of state back home in the middle of the night.. will never recommend or consider this place again.

Staff were very accommodating, easy check- in and out. There was nothing fancy about the hotel but looked like they had remodeled previously. The rates were very reasonable and all we needed was a room for an overnight stay.

We stay here for 2 night during conference. Room very big and have one of the cheapest price. Only one problem hotel kind of old but service very good and we get everything we asking for. Good place to stay if you want save money.

Contrary to some of the reviews I read, I found Sandalwood a good value. Room was clean, reservation was correct with (TripAdvisor) room was a good size for 2-4 people. Hotel is located in a good area with the horse track minutes away, as well as Valley Fair, the Renaissance Festival, and a casino just a bit further away. Would stay there again. It's not the Hilton, but it's great for what you need.
