The morning of check out, we were in our room, the door was shut, and we heard the "clicking" sound of the door being opened with a key. A strange man entered our room then turn around and walk out. We told the man at the front desk what had happened. He seemed concerned and said that it was clearly "a security issue". We described the man to the clerk. Maybe they have looked into...idk. I will never stay here again!
Clean, affordable, freindly

Stayed here the night before going to a Cincinatti Reds game with my son. Was presenlty suprised by the place, not a typical Econolodge. Rooms were large and clean, indoor entries to the rooms. Front desk and other staff members were friendly and helpful!
While the rooms have indoor access, there is no eleavtor. If you cannot do steps, be sure to call them before arrrival so they can get you a room on the 1st floor.
Wont go back

Needed a room for 2 adults with 1 bed. They only had a room available with 3 queen sized beds on the second floor. All the beds were so hard that it would have been about the same to sleep on the floor. Horrible. No elevator, so my guy who is disabled had to painfully walk the stairs several times. 3 beds, but only 1 chair to sit in! Will never do that again! On the flip side it was very clean, and the Front Desk staff although hard to find when you need them, were very pleasant.
Not a good experience for $280.00.
Scary experience with owner

My husband and I were traveling up to Chicago from the south and saw a coupon for this Econo Lodge in Shelbyville, Indiana on the internet for $49.99 for one to two persons. We went inside the lobby and presented our coupon and the manager wanted to charge us an extra $6.00 for the second person. The manager was very rude after we tried to explain to him that his coupon was misleading. He threatened to call the police and threw us out because we've pointed this out on his coupon. We never raised our voice and we never threatened him. He was totally off the wall. We can only recommend that nobody ever stops at this location because of his erratic behavior. It was quite scary and we felt very unsafe.
This hotel's hot breakfast is a game-changer.

On top of having the most comfortable rooms, this hotel now has scrambled eggs and Jimmy Dean sausages as part of its new breakfast. The eggs are hot and tasty, and the Jimmy Deans are outstanding. They still have make-your-own waffles, which are fresh and excellent, as well. The rooms have new furniture, with new beds and the flatscreen TV seemed larger than my last visit, and now they have Direct TV, which means endless options when watching movies. For someone who travels often, this hotel is the nicest one I've been to.
