Perfect for the location!
Renamed to Sunon Hotel..a very well-known hotel in Shenzhen. But if you use a cab/taxi, tell the driver the hotel name in Mandarin "XIN AN". Almost all drivers know this hotel. This hotel might be one of the oldest hotel in Shenzhen..but seems that they did some in-room renovation in a period of time including the amenities provided. Stayed when chinese new year, and around corona virus syndrome. Staff did a good job by measuring guests body temperature. #Room is average in size for its rate #Perfect location, in front of MRT and Dongmen Shopping Street. Lots of food and shops are all around. #Breakfast is so-so, no much choice The most negative thing is : why should there have an in-room condom for sale??! This make the hotel image becomes negative for most tourists. Think positive ~to prevent unwanted case happen for non-married couples. Think negative ~bad hotel image.
Probably the worst hotel we've stayed in
I am always generous in reviewing hotels that my family stays in but in the case of Sunon Hotel/Holiday Villa, I'm sorry but 2 stars really is the most that I can give. The only good points I can think of are the ease of checking in and out, and the property's location. It is right within the shopping area of Dongmen and surrounding streets. Now for the bad news. Both rooms assigned to us on the 7th floor had moldy shower mats, shampoo dispensers, ceilings, tile grouts and corners and nooks. Faucet in the shower was a bit loose from the wall tiles. The bath linens, particularly washcloths, were far from the white that you'd want your bath linen to be. Breakfast array and presentation also need a lot of improvement. I am aware that Sunon isn't a top tier hotel but to my mind, cleanliness should be given due importance in the hospitality business no matter what. I feel that management should take advantage of the hotel's very good location by stepping up on its cleanliness, amenities and other services.
Budget Hotel at a good location.Next to Metro but has early morning noisy building work.
Decent place to stay for the price.Includes breakfast but decided to give it a miss after I had a look at it before taking the family down.Steps away from all the shops & the many choices of street food.Major downside is that we were woken up by noisy building work right outside our window....Started at around 8am....
Holiday in Shenzhen
We checked in at the Sunon Hotel when we arrived Shenzhen from airport via MRT. It’s very near to the metro station and also walking distance to nearby shopping centres. Hotel reception staff were attentive and helpful, but you’ll need a translater. Hotel room was clean, with good bathroom, toiletry supplies and they do daily housekeeping and towel change. Bedsheets were clean. Food & drink selectionsBreakfast are just nice with a mix of local delicacies. Highly recommended to take this hotel for your Shenzhen trip.
Small & clean room
We arrived quite late in the evening. Room was very small, but clean & comfortable. Strong water pressure. Cool airconditioner. Located in the middle of shopping street. Everywhere you turn, you will see a Metro entrance. A lot of food choices nearby. Good breakfast spread, even for halal option. Staff speak 0% English. Please do your own research.
