In one word: this marvelous place has far exceeded our high expectations. Every and each particular aspect was certainly between very well and incredible. Never concern about the distance to center of Siena - the bus goes each 15 mins, cost 2,6 euro (return trip), and you can reach the Villa by foot from Siena in 15 mins as you will go downhill. Beautiful view from the windows, nice kitchen, excellent bath with such a nice tiles and ceramics, great design of the rooms - typical Tuscan, very precise, with nothing excessive. The quality of cleaning is just perfect. The same with the quality of dream and bed even though our windows looked to the local drive road. No problem at all. Nice garden, with the picturesque view of the Tuscan hills, absolutely perfect people working there (it is a family business as I got). We are really and very grateful for all. If we visit Siena again our future accommodation will be the same.
The best accommodations ever

I am sitting here in Tennessee, USA in disbelief that it has taken me so long to write this review! We actually traveled to Italy in March 2019 (we couldn’t select that long ago), and made Siena our “home base” for a week to travel the Chianti region. We travel often (pre Covid) and can honestly say that Villa I’ll Borghetto was just -special. From the great accommodations that were as clean as possible, to how welcome we felt when we arrived, to what has turned into a great long-distance friendship that feels like family- this is what you can expect from Christina and Claudio. We thought we did some research on the great places to dine, visit and take in a cooking class. Wrong! Christina set us all up with the right info. Every recommendation was excellent! She stepped in of transport didn’t arrive exactly on time and made sure we had the best visit ever. I highly recommend you look no further than Villa ail Borghetto for your stay in Siena! We’re planning a group trip back soon and taking a whole group of people with us. There is no where else we would stay!
Villa Il Borghetto - Le Contrade. Sept 2020

My wife and I stayed here in early September ‘20. We assumed, correctly as it turned, out that Italy would soon sadly be back on the “closed” list of countries for UK travellers due to Covid numbers climbing again, and as I write this review a month after our return, it seems we were correct. We stayed in apartment - Le Contrade which was clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and the inclusion of a washing machine proved useful to us. The apartment was comfortable and tastefully and interestingly decorated (IMO). As a keen photographer, I found the light in the room very appealing, and the views across the valley spectacular, albeit a little spoilt by the network of power lines - still, that’s what Photoshop is for. My one word of warning, (not meant as a criticism), is that our specific apartment (Le Contrade) may not be a wise choice for anyone with young children as there is a steep spiral staircase in the room which leads up to a very pleasant private roof terrace, but it may be a little hazardous for mischievous kids. The staff (Christina and Claudio) were both friendly and helpful and were constantly mindful of the Covid guidelines in terms of masks and hand sanitiser. Siena is a walkable distance (in theory) though we didn’t attempt it. The road is quite busy and pavements are scarce, and you’re better off expending your energies walking around Siena, rather than walking the mile or so to get there. It’s far easier to get the bus which stops a few yards from the apartment building. Christina or Claudio will be able to provide you with a bus ticket for a few euros and if needed will be happy to explain how to use it, if you’re not familiar with Italian public transport. We had a hire car, but this was no problem as there is a decent sized car park in the grounds. There is a decent supermarket (Conad) a short drive away for those self-catering. Check in/out was fairly stress free as we were able to park our car just outside the entrance for a few minutes to unload/load, then move it to the rear of the building afterwards. There are pleasant grounds for short walks, or for relaxing with a bottle of wine, though we tended to use our rooftop terrace for watching the world go by. I had read some reviews before we arrived that mentioned road noise, and yes, there is a fairly main road a few hundred yards from the rear of the building, and a similarly busy road running along the front of the building also. Our apartment faced the rear, but I couldn’t say that I found road noise particularly annoying as some others have reported, and the road at the rear is mainly concealed from view. In conclusion, we had a pleasant few days at Villa il Borghetto, and we would definitely consider a future stay should our travels ever take us back to Siena and/or the surrounding area.
A very nice to be

Lovingly furnished house. Very clean, everything you need to feel comfortable. Cristina and Claudio are wonderful hosts and very concerned about the well-being of their guests. There is a supermarket in the immediate vicinity. Siena Centrum can be reached in a few minutes by bus or car from there.

We have just spent 3 nights in Villa Il Borghetto. It was just perfect. The property is very clean, equipped with all you need and anyone can think of! The location is superb and Cristina and Claudio are extremely kind. We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) and we were slightly worried the kids could be bored or not enjoying themselves but we all loved it!
