Decent hotel with high charm factor
The old city of Skara is provides a nice ambience to this old style hotel in the very centre. Standard modern facilities are offered and free parking. Pleasant service offered at reception. Rooms of variable size are on offer. They are clean and my room was very quiet. Breakfast offer is of avarage standard. Personally I enjoy this kind of hotel, having its own character
Acceptable for a couple of nights
As other reviewers have noted, this not the most modern and up to date hotel in Sweden... The rooms are rather tired and in need of refurbishment (though impeccably clean) with public areas that freminded me of hotels in Eastern Europe in the 90s - their decorating guru has, well, interesting tastes. Functionally, however, it's entirely acceptable - tiny beds (as always in the Nordics), tiny shower rooms (though the showers themselves were fine), standard Swedish breakfast, friendly but not terribly efficient or effective staff and it was not expensive.
Getting worse. Never again.
Don’t know where to begin. since last stay has gotten worse. The cash register in the bar was broken for 2 days. Staff charged the room to my credit card instead of billing my employer. Long lines checking in and out because the personnel can’t handle the computer. Bed old and worn out. Food in the bistro was good but the service was awful. Front desk unmanned during long periods. Never again.
Go elsewhere
Pretty aged hotel with rooms that seem to have been not renovated in centuries. Staff is okay, but not really well trained. I guess having little competition makes you lazy and bored. Breakfast is pretty bad too.
Lovely centrally located hotel
The hotel has a bistro restaurant with great food! If you are looking for a Conference location their venue is perfect - both their ballroom, conference rooms and auditorium! Staff is one of the highlights of the hotel - very serviceminded and friendly.
