No AC. No refund.

There was AC in our room, but it broke down at 11pm-midnight. Started blowing out hot air. No one there to fix it or move us to a new room. Slept with the balcony door open. Did NOT sleep well! Noises from the streets, cars! And since we had to open the balcony black out curtains, for air to circulate the room/cool it down, we could not sleep in. Do NOT go here. Better off taking your money somewhere.

Lots of pros and cons for this hotel: Pros: Friendly staff Great location- bus stop right outside the door -Anitik. A few bars, restaurants/cafes and shops in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Very reasonably priced. Beautiful views from the sea view rooms. Netflix on television in room. Good WiFi. Safe in room (€10 deposit for key and lock from reception) Hairdryer and toiletries in room. Cons Very uncomfortable bed. Reasonably clean but could definitely do with a deep clean in some areas. Noise from road (traffic, rubbish collections and pedestrian lights) and breakfast room - we stayed on 6th floor and it started between 6.30 and 7am. Overall a good spot as a base to explore the island from.

Great Hotel in a Great Location

We stayed in Carlton Hotel for 6 days our childrens favourite time in carlton hotel was was when we they had breakfast. There were delicious cakes and the lady serving breakfast was really kind giving them coco pops, bread etc. We also had a swimming pool at the top roof. Right in front of the hotel was a bus stop to travel around malta for example Barakah Gardens in Valleta this place has cannon guns shows at 12pm Overall a great stay at Carltom Hotel

Good value friendly hotel

The hotel is on the seafront at the edge of Sliema and St Julian's. The room was basic but very clean. Bathroom could do with an upgrade but again was spotless. We had a seaview room with a little balcony. The road is busy so if noise bothers you (it doesn't bother us) then ask not to be at the front. Hotel staff were very helpful. Tea and coffee is provided but even boiling the water doesn't make Maltese water taste any better. We didn't use the pool or have breakfast in the hotel. There are a few nice bars, restaurants and gelateria close to the hotel, including a little coffee shop next door that does coffee and croissants. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the bars of St Julians and around 25-30 mins walk to the ferries in Sliema. Promenade around the front is lovely. There is a really good bus service with buses going to Valetta, ferries in Sliema etc. Bus stop is outside the hotel. There's no parking at the hotel - you need to hunt the side streets. Driving is hectic in Malta and public transport is so good that I wouldn't recommend hiring a car. We certainly wouldn't do so again. I would recommend the hotel for a good budget option, with good service and location.

Holiday

We paid for a seaview ending up on the 7th floor asked to change for a room with a balcony which they said they would at the weekend but didn't. Room was cold and basic. Small lift for 2 people so pain up and down to 7th floor each time Went for breakfast once basic and did not enjoy. Would not stay at that hotel again even though in a good spot.
