Booked hotel online. Was not able to make it and could not cancel on line. Called hotel who said they would cancel my reservation, so I stopped at another town on the way and got a hotel. I was charged for the room. Called and talked with the manager who basically said I was lying because all of her staff knew that they could not cancel the reservations. I asked for the name of the staff member who was on duty that day and conveniently she was busy. Said to call back which I did. Manager again could not pull the name and said I will call you tomorrow for sure. Two days later and I still have not heard from here. So I think I am out my money. Had they said they could not cancel, I would have driven through and stayed there.

It took 15 minutes for the room entry cards to be keyed; which didn’t work. We had to go down and get another set for a different room. The vanity in the bathroom slanted down, so water poured to the floor when we washed up. The bathroom tub didn’t drain. The breakfast, eggs, etc. we’re cold. The staff was unhelpful.

Catherine is the best hotel employee I have encountered on all of my travels. I had questions and she answered them. I had changes, and she accommodated them. When I was traveling and I lost reception for almost an hour scrambling to find a room, she didn’t give up and called me until she reached me. I am very appreciative of her and Double Tree is very lucky to have an employee like Catherine.

Overall the hotel is clean. Everything works but it had an odor from the constant construction workers frequently staying there. The ceiling creaked every time the guest above us moved all night long… and our second night we moved to the same floor and actually the same room he was in. The box spring creaked and the floor squeaked for us as well. I felt sorry for whoever was below us. Breakfast was muffins & boiled eggs. The juice machine was down so no juice.

Another guest was assigned the same room and tried to enter after midnight. Front fest said we were in the wrong room, but they assigned it and gave us the keys 6 hours earlier. How did this happen? Why after multiple tries can we not get an explanation or comp for the issue. Not a happy Hilton Hhonors member!
