We had a great time. Yes, the hotel needs renovation, but on the other hand everything was great ... the staff is great, the animators, the performances ... we have to pay a high price for the Covid test, but it is now profitable business...Thank you guys!Beware of seafood! We had a problem after visiting the Seafood Restaurant! But the Mexican restaurant is number one!

Great food! Beautiful property! All of the staff were amazing. Elvis and Victor in the buffet restaurant went above and beyond. I always looked forward to seeing them everyday! We really appreciated them remembering us and what we ordered for drinks! I truly feel like we have left with new friends.

Anniversary trip wasted at Blur Bay Esmeralda

It’s our first full day at blue bay Esmeralda and it’s very very disappointing. This is supposed to be our anniversary trip and yes we got a good deal on the trip but the service the food the resort it’s not five-star as they advertise at best I would give it 2 1/2 stars. We arrived yesterday only to find out that the lobby is super dated the furniture in the lobby was so dirty that I did not want to sit on the couch while I was waiting for my husband to check in. Then we came to the room which again was decorated from the early 90s. There were flies in our room and there were flies in the Buffet restaurant. today I went to the same Buffay restaurant and at the same spot that was a dead fly. The shower is dirty, there is silicone that is still left untouched with paint, to climb into the tub it’s super high I think it’s made for people who are at least 6 feet tall not for short people, the water does not drain properly in the tub. When we arrived yesterday our fan was making a weird noise. We called three times over the course of yesterday evening and last night to get someone to come and look at it and we did not get a response. I have a neck problem and I asked for extra pillows for which we called two times and again we did not get anything from them. We also asked for an extra blanket which was not provided to us. Finally today I had to go to the concierge and put in a complaint after which when we came back to the room we had two extra pillows and a blanket laying on the bed. We were willing to pay for an upgrade but they wanted my arm my leg and probably my firstborn for a room upgrade. The front staff is not very helpful or friendly the way they speak to you seems very derogatory. When we arrived yesterday we went for the lunch buffet which was as empty as empty can be with food that was not tasting good at all. We went to the same restaurant for breakfast and lunch again today only to know that the menu is very similar to what was served yesterday. They have a second restaurant by the beach that only serves breakfast and lunch hopefully when we try that it’ll be a little better. You could only make reservations one day in advance which to me is really really unacceptable because any other resort you can make reservations in advance on the day of your arrival and you’re set for the duration of your trip. After I went to the concierge today and expressed my dismay of not being able to get my reservations the concierge supervisor was nice enough to provide me with two more bookings to cover me for two more days. Unfortunately the restaurants are only few therefore you might have to go eat at the same restaurant over and over again. There are no swim up bars and no 24 hour snack so if you’re coming here bring your own snack. This is the first resort that I have been to that does not have a coffee machine which blew my mind because really which resort does not have a coffee machine? The gardens are beautiful and well-maintained however the property is not a five star at best I would read it at 2 1/2 or maybe 3 if I was being super generous. I asked for the resort manager and surprisingly enough she was having lunch and was told there’s somebody waiting for her but she did not come outside to see me so finally I had to get some help from the concierge supervisor who said that since he’s here he will be able to help me. With the resort not super full I was hoping that they would be able to upgrade our room for a minimal charge however as mentioned earlier they wanted whole bunch of money for an upgrade and then later proceeded to tell me that the rooms are full. In order for you to make your reservations for dinner you have to go back to to the main lobby which is quite a walk from where the rooms are. In the name of a special breakfast they try to sell your timeshare and then send you back to the same place for breakfast where you had been the day before because truly and honestly if there is no special breakfast. Overall the experience in this day and a half that I have been here it has not been good and based on this day and a half I can say that my next five days are not going to be the best that I’ve had. This was supposed to be my 19th anniversary trip and I can say for sure that I have never been at a resort that is so backdated and so outdated the food is not good at all. We do have the la cart to try so I will update my review once I try those restaurants until then take my advice and don’t spend your money coming here go somewhere else. Also one more thing not all restaurants are open and I don’t know why they advertise they have Japanese French Mexican Italian and steakhouse and seafood restaurant out of which Japanese is closed. As I said earlier this was supposed to be a very special trip for our 19th anniversary but thanks to blue bay, it’s Possibly one of the worst trips out of or taken and I have travelled quite a bit.
