My family and I stayed at this report from Nov 18 to Nov 25 and I cannot say enough good things. It was our first time to Mexico and im so glad and thankful we ended up staying at this resort over some of the other ones on the strip!!!! Staff: mostly all of the staff we encountered went over and above for us. At the front desk Marie deserves a huge shout out and raise- her patience and customer service is one of the best we have ever seen in a foreign country- thank you so much!!! Edward and some of the other front desk reps were also very helpful and courteous- it was refreshing and reassuring!! Entertainment Staff- the best in the world!!!! Danny, Joe, Tony, Kris, Anna, Itza were some of our families personal favorites (they were so so fun and awesome, our older parents and our 4 year old absolutely had a great time because of them)- THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Cleaning Staff- ammmmazzing and so so kind. Always felt safe and left our rooms so clean- 100% agree with other reviews- please tip- they truly deserve it- they work extremely hard!!! I wish I remembered the sweet ladies name that cleaned our rooms- she deserves a huge raise!!! Management- please see below for pictures and thank her for us again!!! Management- didn't have too much encounter with them but did get to speak to the director and so awesome to see a wonderful women in charge- made some recommendations and honestly feel they will be taken into serious consideration!!! Food Staff: HUGEEE SHOUTOUT to Alberto at the pizza and pasta stand and Jose at the taco and burrito stand- please give then recognition or a raise or something- our family is vegetarian (no egg or fish either) and this place really catered and made the food over and above our expectations so THANK you so much again!!!!! Overall great experience- lots to do, amazing service food and would love to return soon again. Thank you to all the amazing people we met- truly made this trip feel like paradise!!!!
Hotel Riu Palace Mexico

As usual the Riu hotel resorts don’t disappoint. The hotel was clean, service was amazing and the staff are incredible. Would always recommend Riu hotel resorts. Having the Covid testing onsite was also very convenient for travellers and pricing was great.

In a nutshell, this is a very nice resort. All of the food we had was great, drinks were good and not watered down. There are waiters on the beach and around the pool area, even at the pool with the bar. Our rooms were cleaned and smelled good every day. Please tip your bartenders, waiters and housekeeping staff! They work very hard and deserve to be tipped. It was very frustrating to see the amount of people that didn’t tip. The only problems we had was the key cards would not work when we first got there and that took a little while to figure out. Another day we couldn’t get into our safe and they had to basically break into it. I would definitely return to this resort!
RIU PALACE MEXICO Made SUNWING FLIGHT 1 DAY DELAY WORTH IT!

To people who had there vacation delayed for full day from Edmonton to Cancun. You need to file a claim with passanger air protection. Otherwise we all have to band together and put a lawyer on this. If sunwing can use safety as a excuse everytime they delay an mess up our vacation with no compensation is not having protection at all. My last vacation my sister flight was delayed 5hrs due to safety also an had to emergency land. They all got compensate 400 because it hit the news same day. We need to make this public as a group of 200 people on the plane. I was on that also. Sunwing should have a working plane and parts to fix it immediately. Just bad excuse when a plane cannot even get a part to fix it. That plane is the most common plane every airline uses 737. Sunwing Nexus keeps sending same auto reply is not customer service. Trying to avoid any compensate of our paid vacation! If not for the amazing beach and ocean of Riu Palace the trip would been a bomb. The food was amazing here and the staff also. The cleaners are on there game, always fresh towel. Use the Riu app will improve the service. Best place was steak house that had lobster. There is not a shortage of seafood, ate 10 crab claws in a sit. Gym could use way more equipment but hardly used it due to being in ocean all day wore you out. Worth the stay but dont fly with SUNWING, they didnt even try to compensate 200 people missing full day of there hard work vacation! This is the 2nd trip back to back they failed on matience of there planes.

Stayed from the 11th through the 15th of November. We were in a standard room 1st floor in a handicap room. Probably as we are 65 and 70 but not handicap. The room was clean but funky in a way. Large room with a large jet tub in the room. Nice terrace but the shower was odd. Water went everywhere. The food and service was amazing and our favorite server was Mary. Along with Mirabel and Craci in the entertainment area. The steak restaurant was really good. If not for what happened as the bad. We would stay again. Our room was robbed, 2 times.I believe by someone who had access to the room. The first was a reading tablet left charging on the table, when we went to breakfast. The next day I notice my wallet was empty of all paper money, not much as most was in the safe. We did report it to the front desk and they are investigating and have emailed us twice. We have traveled often to all parts of Mexico and never happened before. Unpacking at home we notice my husband's very unique shirt with drum sets on it also is missing. I am a too trusting person and this lesson will be remembered. My wallet did not have much money in it, but I was moving money to it from the safe for tips throughout the resort and tipped well. Hope the person is caught as once a business has a thief on board they usually continue to steal.
