Hotel Negresco

Hotel receptionist was very nice and friendly, every day. Rooms were amazing with fantastic views and always spotlessly clean. Breakfast was strange due to this strange time but the staff made it work and always willing to help. Food was of good quality. Bar staff super efficient and again always friendly and willing to help. One even googled the drink I wanted so that she could make it for me. Would definitely book again

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel felt very secure in regards to the Corona pandemic. Sliding doors, breakfast buffet handled by staff, extra cleaning in the common areas. All staff wearing face masks. Our superior room (more expensive) had the best view and a very large teracce but the furniture didn't match the pictures of the hotel. After a couple of days it was almost fixed. The teracce was unfortunately very windy during our stay. Still marvelous view! Very friendly staff overall but I would like to especially mention Nicole in the Reception and Manu at the Bar. One major backdraw is that the hotel allows smoking everywhere outdoors with doors fully open so the smoke gets inside as well.

We stayed here for 3 nights in March (pity we had only booked such a short stay!) We have visited this resort on numerous occasions over the past few years and without doubt this was the best accommodation. our room was a superior double with a panoramic sea view which did cost more but was more than worth it for both the room layout and the view. We took our meals in the hotel and could have no complaint regarding either the service or the quality of the food. All staff encountered on our visit were courteous and a credit to the hotel. All matters taken into consideration, we would certainly recommend this hotel.

We usually book hotels abroad on a room-only basis, or sometimes bed & breakfast, but for this week-long trip we opted for half board, ie breakfast and dinner. We expected to still eat out for dinner two or three times for variety, but the food was so good at the Negresco that we "ate in" every night. Plenty of choices for breakfast and dinner, and if you didn't fancy what was in the buffet then they would happily make you an omelette for breakfast and there was always a choice of three fresh meat or fish cuts at dinner that they would cook to your liking from scratch. The hotel itself was spotless, from entrance to reception to bar, pool terrace, restaurant, corridors and rooms. All of the staff that we met were friendly and attentive, and Xisco who is the restaurant maitre d' was excellent - very good with his staff as well as with the customers, which is always a good thing. We went for the "superior panoramic" room, and I'm glad that we did and would recommend it. As the name suggests, it gave a glorious panoramic view across the whole of the Bay of Palma, and as the room faces roughly southwest we had the sun on our balcony all day (side rooms would be facing roughly east or west, so only in the sun half of the day). The room was a decent size, and the bed was extremely comfortable. My only minor gripes would be that a small drawer unit in addition to the wardrobe would be useful, and I wasn't that keen on the toilet light being, shall we say, motion activated, which might disturb your partner during the night. An elastoplast over the sensor does the trick though! It's a pleasant stroll west to C'an Pastilla and its marina, and a slightly longer one to Arenal and its marina. Arsenal is very dated looking, like a throwback to the 1970s, but the walk to each is good and there are some good restaurants and bars among the not so nice ones. We thoroughly enjoyed the Negresco.

Really short transfer from the airport (we took the bus to the hotel and a taxi back to the airport; if there are 3 or more of you, the taxi is cheaper as it is 5 euros per person on the bus). Reception were very friendly and efficient and we were allocated our room even though we arrived very early in the day. The hotel itself was very quiet, bearing in mind it was early October, very clean and very well presented. We really enjoyed the rooftop terrace, which was usually almost deserted. The pool was very clean and normally empty and getting access to a sun bed was never an issue. The location of the hotel is fantastic - close to the beach, restaurants and bars. We enjoyed it so much that we have already booked again for next October. Can't wait !!!
