An Average Hotel - Do Your Research!
Reviewed 14 September, 2020
Hotel Capri is a fairly average hotel.
Pool area – Average and very small – didn’t use at all.
Breakfast – Choices are disappointing and awful coffee.
Location – Very close to the town centre – good location for a short break (of 2-3 days but nothing more!) The rooms at the front of the hotel are extremely noisy due to the hotel being located on the main road out of Sorrento. The break didn’t feel very relaxing which is why I suggest if you are staying more than 2-3 days to book elsewhere as the hotel offers no decent views (unless you class a fuel station as a decent view).
Rooms – Décor quite dated but the room itself was clean. As mentioned above, the front rooms are very noisy. The back rooms are a lot quieter but smaller and not much space to hang clothes and store luggage!
Hotel itself – The Reception area is very well presented and always somebody available on Reception. The majority of the staff are friendly and helpful.
All in all, I do think this hotel requires a number of improvements – breakfast being one of them.
As we stayed for a fair amount of time we do wish we had booked somewhere with a better view and somewhere a bit further out with a decent pool area.
Unfortunately we are used to a better standard so I wish we had researched this hotel a lot more and I do feel for the price, the standard should have been better.

We stayed in September for one week after our cruise , the room was a corner room on the first floor and had a dual aspect over the pool and the lemon grove . It was on the small side but it was comfortable and had every thing we needed apart from the shower which was possibly the worst I’ve ever used but a very small thing so .... I used the pool a couple of times it was freezing and mostly busy , all the loungers were taken up most days , dunno why you’d want to stay around the pool all day Sorrento is stunning and too good to miss . The breakfast was typically Italian and as such delicious morsels of sweetness , with some hot food such as sausages etc but this was limited but you’re in holiday so ..... , check in and checkout was quick and efficient and the location on the Corso Italia was fantastic , All in all a little gem of a hotel we loved it .
Beautiful boutique hotel

My husband and I arrived after our Thompson Cruise around the agreed Islands with my mother and father (79 and 75 respectively) to a warm friendly welcome by reception staff. check in was quick and we were shown to our room. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully designed with TV on the wall and spacious bathrooms. The bed was huge and comfortable with extra bedding and pillows in the large wardrobe space. Breakfast is self service in a stunning restaurant which is impeccably clean, serving everything you would need from a hot breakfast to cereal, croissants and toast with jams. Small pastries, fresh coffee and juices are all continually topped up. The waiter Antonino was fabulous and very welcoming and the lovely Vivienna. It was a super clean contemporary hotel which I would definitely revisit, but I would book a room overlooking the pool area as the front rooms were incredibly noisy. Use the bar facility here in the evening the service is superb and the prices extremely reasonable compared to outside establishments. A wonderful week in beautiful surroundings. 🇮🇹♥️
Simple but Lovely Stay

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Capri early September 2019 and were very pleased with the hotel and service.
The hotel and pool area was spotless, the staff welcoming and the location very good for easily getting into the centre of town (approx 10 mins walk) without having the crowds right outside your door.
We had a pool view balcony room and think it was probably worth the little extra for the benefit of getting off of the main street which has typical Italian traffic.
The pool area itself is simple but all we really needed as a means to cool off and the hotel also provided a simple but sufficient pool side bar menu (including a very refreshing coffee or lemon slushy).
The breakfast service had everything we needed (continental and English buffet) and the hotel was well located to walk to any restaurant in the town centre (we’d also really recommend La Locanda Del Gusto just across the road)
Our only real criticisms were we felt much more could be made of the solarium. It is just the roof of the hotel, with just a couple of chairs. As only a few of the sunbeds by the pool received the sun all day, and as some people were only interested in the sun and not the pool, we felt that renovating the solarium with just some sunbeds and maybe even a bar area would be a great unique selling point for the hotel. Also, whilst we usually seek out the quiet areas of any bar, we do like to sit for a drink after walking back from diner, but we felt as if the hotel bar was just too quiet, and we never saw anyone in it and due to that a little uninviting. Simple touches such as just leaving a drinks menu on the tables and maybe some board games would go a long way to make it more inviting.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and have already recommended this hotel for others visiting Sorrento.
Lovely hotel in a perfect location

We had a great stay at Hotel Capri! Location was ideal, only a few minutes to the main square. Reception staff were always helpful whenever I stopped to ask questions. Breakfast was always good, and plenty of choice. Rooms were lovely and clean whenever we came back each day. We never had chance to use the pool as we were out all day every day but it always looked clean and well kept. Our room was quite small so it was a bit of a squeeze with our cases but we were only in our room to get ready and sleep so it wasn't that much of an issue. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Sorrento.
