Can always count on a good breakfast.

Reviewed 14 october, 2019

By no means my first visit to Rocky's but you can always count on having a good breakfast from the extensive items on the menu. See photo. Very impressed as always and will be back for the friday bbq have had a look at the rooms while I was in Rocky's which are very nice being recently renovated to a high standard considering that it is a budget hotel. Nice to Rick the owner back, keep it up doing a great job.

Gorgeous place, surprising lovely accommodation behind bar/restaurant

Reviewed 19 march, 2019

At this price, I thought I was slumming it staying in a room behind a bar in the heart of Sosua. Not so! What a lovely garden area, clean, attractive room, and kind people; wish I could have stayed longer. As others have commented, you are in the heart of the bar/club action, so don't expect nighttime silence at least before midnight, but no problem for me. Place can be a bit hard to see while driving through the chaos (GPSs don't know street numbers, and mine took me too far; all I had to do was walk back a block), but a motoconcho helped me find it.

Best Ribs for sure

We stopped in to try the ribs hear they were good we were not disappointed. They are amazing and the fried potatoes and onions they serve with them were great. Can't wait to again. It was a clean place and friendly staff

Great little bar in the heart of the city

Reviewed 22 october, 2017

Stopped in at Rocky's Rock & Blues Bar to have a beer and ended up booking a horse riding tour with Charlie with Gillary Tours, which took me along the ocean and through the countryside. My guide was very helpful in showing me all the sites, stopping to visit with local merchants with trades to sell. I purchased some great cigars and a handmade shell necklace with Dominican colored shells.

Lots of room for improvement

Reviewed 16 march, 2017

Let me start by saying that Jessie was the biggest highlight of the place. Very nice, and very accommodating. But, the hotel itself needs some serious work. One thing that took me by surprise from the start was that there are no glass windows. The windows are covered by metal shutters. What this means is that if you want to use A/C, you have to keep the metal shutters closed and get no natural light in the room at all. Plus, it just looks bad. The light in the ceiling was rather dim, and when I turned on the fan, it started swinging in all directions so much that I was afraid it would fly off and hit me in the head, so I turned it off. The shower was bad also. Water pressure is very weak and you have to wait at least 3-4 minutes before hot water even starts running. If you spend more than 5 minutes in the shower, hot water runs out and turns cold. Last, the room and furniture was just REALLY worn out. The highlights again were very friendly host (Jessie), and the rest of the staff. There is a pool table and BBQ. For someone who will spend almost no time in the room and just needs a place to quickly wash up and sleep, it may be okay. For me, I won't go back there unless all other places are booked (which is what happened last time). It's a shame because the location is great. I wish the owners invested a bit of money into renovating the place. Install real glass windows, get some new chairs, repaint the rooms, upgrade the furniture. Even with bad water pressure, that would go a long way. Hope that helps both visitors AND owners :)
