This is Now a Quality Inn

Reviewed 28 june, 2021

5 stars for location (close to beach and Stateline casinos) 4 stars for staff (receptive and accommodating) 3 stars for the room (recently refurbished but non-quality paint job, especially in the bathroom) 2 stars for parking (very tight, especially for full-size pick-ups) 1 star for first assigned room location (right by a smoking receptacle) Regarding beach: There has been confusion as to whether you can use the private beach about a block away at the reduced fee of $5 (instead of $25) and you can; just purchase the pass at the front desk when you check-in. First of all, be forewarned this is a huge, sprawling property with multiple buildings so your assigned room may not be in the same building as where the office is housed. Our first room was accessed by driving across the street, going around a building and up a ramp, and turns out the building was on the next street, so the breakfast run may be a long walk. Since our first assigned room wasn't acceptable, we were reassigned to a handicap room on the first floor in the main building, and while for the most part, the room itself was fine, the bathroom being ADA compliant was very awkward and there was no place to put toiletries or hang anything up. When checking out I did mention that perhaps installing a few shelves and/or hooks would help. The two queens were fine and the AC was efficient and fairly quiet (for a motel unit anyway). The bathroom was clean with nice toiletries (still unsure if the small can of deodorant was leftover from a guest or complimentary), the Internet was sufficient for our use, and it quieted down at night although it could stay noisy during a busy weekend. Breakfast appeared to be a bit more than what was served during Covid restrictions with a "buffet" of blueberry muffins, bananas, packets of oatmeal, yogurts, and yummy biscuit breakfast sandwiches which we warmed in the room microwave. The seating was very limited but we just trucked it back to the room. All in all, it was fine for an overnight stay. Do be aware that parking is very tight and it was full when we returned to our room during the early evening.

Upgraded to the Quality Inn

Reviewed 24 june, 2021

A great location at a reasonable price. Our room, a queen bed on the ground floor, was comfortable. The bed was soft, the towels were fluffy, there was excellent lighting in both the bedroom and the bathroom. Both shower and toilet had good water pressure. The air conditioner was efficient and quiet. Hot breakfasts weren't available yet per COVID. The hotel has laundry facilities as well as an ice machine and soda machine. There is free parking but when the hotel is crowded, space is limited. It's a short walk to the beach and a nominal fee of $5 and a short walk to the casinos if that's your thing.

Nice location , very clean!

We really enjoyed our room it was very clean had all the accommodations the microwave refrigerator TV Wi-Fi. The place is a bit dated in the hallways but interiors wasn’t bad at all. we like the location because we could walk to the main street to the restaurants or do some shopping. The staff was very nice and helpful. My only complaint was that there were some people smoking out in the parking lot. Yuck!!!

Worst hotel in South Lake Tahoe

Reviewed 5 september, 2020

Quite possibly the worst hotel ever. They have several buildings, some a block away from the lobby. Let’s just say it’s been non stop partying in my building, the furthest away. Beer bottles everywhere in the morning. Pot smoke all day and night. No security whatsoever. Stay somewhere else, even if it’s your car. Parking has been a nightmare because there are not enough spots and there is not street parking.

Good accommodation

Our room, though small, was clean and comfortable, with even a small balcony. We were in the building across the street, on the second floor, where they had an elevator. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The king bed was very comfortable and bathroom more than adequate. We appreciated the breakfast items they provided during this time, as some other hotels advertising breakfast were not giving anything.
