It a shame but disappointing stay this time

Unfortunately this place was not up to the high standards it usually has. Usually from when we’ve stayed here, you could fault them. Very Friendly, excellent customer service and a great place to stay. But this time we was very disappointed with the standard of the room. Beds and room was very clean, then we hit the bathroom. Shower head very dirty and scum round the bath. Not their usual standard. Disappointing and sad to have to give this review but won’t stop me staying here again as it a great place to stay. Come in, you can do so much better than this. Would have given a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the standard of the room.
Great, friendly hotel & pub with an excellent breakfast

Rooms are pretty basic and reminiscent of a Travelodge but they are clean and functional and the beds are incredibly comfy. Reception is in the pub (and not particularly well sign-posted); we headed towards the beer garden, only to find you should left from the car park but had missed the small directional sign. The staff in the pub are very nice and you will receive a discount on main meals if you are a hotel guest. The breakfast was probably the best one I've had in a UK hotel for years. Everything is freshly prepared and cooked to order. None of this sitting around stewing or in rivers of grease. I tend to gauge the kitchen staff's ability on their presentation of eggs and black pudding - both of which were done to perfection. The self-service croissants and bread were also fresh and delicious.
This is a great hotel

Highly recommend. Yes it is on an industrial estate, but it is quiet and we had a cracking night’s sleep. Comfy bed, great shower. Check in a bit confusing as in pub, but that was only moan. McDs just opposite and an Aldi right next door. Ok meal in pub. Overall really good.
Highly recommended hotel and Pub

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting this area. The staff at Marton’s Pub are fantastic.Working away from home is not always pleasant but they make me feel very welcomed and they genuinely care about their customers. The food is delicious.I would highly recommend this hotel and pub.
Waiting to Move in

Whilst waiting for our house purchase in Thorne to complete, we stayed at the Kings Chamber for 9 nights. At £50 per weekday night, this was excellent value for a family sized room. All tea, coffee and biscuits were available. The beds were comfortable, which led to a good nights sleep. What more could you ask for!
