On-line price fluctuates
When making a reservation, the price goes up and stays UP, never equal/down; NO discounts in any way and yet when at the counter, the price really goes UP! Max dollar and NO negotiation. What is the point in making an on-line reservation when at the counter, the price is higher even WITH a reservation? No business over-sight, there should be a law or authority in place to enforce the price being the PRICE! Parkway INN needs to adhere to the structure as Springfield, PA locale Parkway Inn operates remains viable, especially in the summer time. Also, once reservation is "locked in", Parkway Inn MAINTAINS and if to cancel, MAINTAINS charging never the less; while the customer-service is pleasant in releasing the charge, if called to cancel "in time", Parkway Inn is non-negotiable. NO one has time, nor financial means, to have their debit/credit card "locked" because Parkway Inn (truth be told, a 1990s locale, building, interior walls, bath-room, all old style) refuses to modernize.
Should be closed down by Health and buildings departments
Booked it as emergency just to sleep and shower after not getting on the flight in Philly last night. Probably would have been better off on the airport floor and using communal toilet to shower. Nobody expects luxury in $60 motel, but basic functioning and hygiene should be fundamental regardless. Lights were not working, toilet was almost off the floor and cracked and toilet paper was whatever was left from previous victim. Walls were stained, one bedsheet had a footprint on it, shower curtain was so slimy and had some bugs on it. People we went there with had only cold water in their room. We even changed the room and saw other people doing the same, but same issues again in the new room. So it’s not a “one off” room issue. Front desk guy even tried to impose a gag order when we asked other guest what their grievances were. This entire place is a literal dump where you don’t want to touch anything. Unsanitary and don’t also be fooled by the airport in its name. Its nowhere near the airport. But they do offer free porn as a pacifier, somewhere between cnn and nikelodeon. Obviously use gloves or wash your hands after operating the remote. Unless its on your bucket list, steer clear of this place.
WARNING: MICE. RUDE MANAGEMENT. Please avoid- especially with small children
I booked three nights at this hotel for my family and I. My husband, four year old, and infant child stayed in a double full room. Upon arrival the people working at the front desk were very friendly and patient, as they seemed to have many reservations, as well as on the spot bookings occurring. During our second evening both my husband and I noticed a large mouse run across the floor of our room. This mouse/mice had some courage as it was out and about multiple times throughout the evening. We decided to leave for the remainder of our three night stay because we have an infant that was crawling on the floor. I waited until the line was gone in the lobby and checked in with the folks at the front desk about a refund due to the mice/mouse. At first they said “no” to refunding our room. I asked them again and said we would be fine with a refund just for the two nights since we had already stayed there one. The person at the front desk reached out to another staff and that staff said they would refund us one night and I could call the following day for the possibility for a refund of our second of the three nights. I said that was fine and we just wanted to move to a different hotel. The person that assisted us at this point was able in the end to refund us two of the three nights. I am thankful for the two employees that assisted during this particular scenario as I know it was not their individual faults. I had asked them for an hour at max while we searched for a new hotel for our family of four and they said that was ok. I was also told during this time that this was a first time they have had a report of mice. Up until this point in the evening I had no intention of leaving a negative review. I don’t hold the people working behind the counter individually accountable for mice. However, within 10 minutes of me leaving the main office, a man came to our room asking us to leave. I believe he may have been the owner/upper management, though I may very well be wrong. He had a rather large mouse sticky trap (making my husband and I wonder if this was really a first complaint?) with him and said housekeeping was “here to clean the room.” I told him that the people at the main office said we could have the hour to pack and try to find a hotel for our family (I was on the phone with a different hotel during this time). He told us no and to leave right away. It was an extremely judgemental feeling, and as I write this I am realizing that there was definitely no housekeeping present to clean (after we left we sat in our car on the phone with our next hotel. We watched them walk into the room with the mouse trap, and walk out within 15 seconds). This was all very disappointing as I felt that the others that worked there were as accommodating as they could be, and this person was so, immensely rude. As an honest person/family that takes pride in “going with the flow” I cannot, I cannot, in good conscious, go on with the remainder of our trip without warning others of our unfortunate experience that occurred at the parkway inn.
