More about the hotel
The only place to stay in the area!
My husband and I have stayed at the Silver Horseshoe Inn several times and it is fabulous. The rooms are very large, all suites, with beautiful full kitchens. The owners are amazing and extremely accommodating. You'll find your fridge stocked with breakfast items and bottled water. The location on main street is walking distance to several eateries, convenience stores, even a liquor store. Best of all you just park your car right out front and head right in to the entrance to the rooms. Extremely convenient and comfortable, We wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else in the area.
Great History! Greater things to come!
We had a great stay (just one night) at the Silver Horseshoe! The historic location has been a saloon and hotel for over a hundred years, though now being reopened after a shut down for some years. The rooms are terrific - suites with kitchens all newly remodeled and very comfortable for the modern traveler. The main floor is a work in progress. The bar is open (to guests), but someday (soon we hope) there will be a fine steak house and the atmosphere of a cowboy hangout will be complete! The owners are very friendly (doing a lot of the work themselves) and we just found the stay very pleasant (especially after the highly restrictive accomodations in Yellowstone due to Covid).
Upgraded hotel
I stopped at this small hotel on my way to Yellowstone. It was difficult to find as being inconspicuous building, I suggest illuminated hotel sign. Parking is on the street where u find. Friendly staff but not wearing a mask so I don't know if they do any special disinfecting. I got very nice suite, very clean with new luxury furniture. We were 4 in the 2 rooms and could sleep comfortably on the queen bed and expandable couch. The breakfast was self-service in the fridge, plenty but nothing special, no vegetables or fresh fruit. My room was quite noisy from some outside motor which was running intermittently. The view was to the neighboring building. With all the upgrades seams they forgot to get new insulated double pane windows, which could better insulate the noise and weather. Overall happy with the stay.
Hidden Gem!
I was on a fishing trip with a buddy of mine and we had booked a night at the Silver Horse Shoe Inn and could not be happier. The place is a hidden Gem. The suite was clean and had all the amenities needed. I just wish I had more time to have enjoyed them. The co-owner was so nice and showed us around the new remodeling going on, from the restaurant to the saloon. I will definitely stay there again!
This is truly hotel was fantastic & a true shining star in small town Idaho!!!
I'm a bit conflicted in writing this review, because next time we are in the area there may never be any openings for a reservation at this fine local small town hotel. My Friend & I were on a 2 week fishing trip that took us to over 8 rivers in Idaho & Montana and stayed in 7 different hotels, cabins and lodges. This was by far both of our favorite stay. When we arrived at the Silver Horseshoe around 10:30pm for check in after 2 day overnight fishing trip on the Southfork River we were greeted by the hotel owner Randall. During check in, we were both offered a free cold soda or bottled water. We were then quickly checked in and were told after settling in come down to the hotel saloon for a complimentary beer for each of us. Randall then gave us a total overview of our room & explained there was a laundry room near our room that was also complimentary including all detergent. When we got to our room we had a problem with the TV channels, when we called down to the desk Randall came right up & in a couple of minutes everything was working. He then took me into the kitchen area in our room and showed us everything, this turned out to be the beginning of the 5 star treatment. Our room was a small 3 room efficiency with a couch that had 2 recliners main room (this was just what we needed after 2 days of fishing & camping) with king size bed, separate bedroom with queen bed & full-size kitchen. There were plenty of dressers & a small desk workplace. There was also complimentary coffee and water in the room, which itself was immaculately clean and well furnished. The kitchen included a sink, dishwasher, an oven, and a microwave. There was also a full-sized refrigerator that was stocked with orange juice, eggs, frozen waffles, hash browns, and (2) types of sausage (the links seemed to be homemade & a treat). I only wish we would have stayed here for the (4) nights we were in the area & not just the one night. The next morning we fixed a wonderful breakfast at our leisure, did some much needed laundry & walked around the nice historic downtown area where everyone made us feel welcome. The type of place you only read about in books. During checkout Randall took us through a complete tour of the ongoing renovation of the steakhouse & saloon. He took time to explain to us about all the great history of the building over a century old and all the different ranch cow brands on the walls, there were too many to count and so interesting seeing the different styles. I can’t wait to return for a nice thick steak after the steakhouse is open and for a much longer stay. If you are looking for a place to stay in a perfect location for travel to the Tetons, Yellowstone 40 minutes away. It's minutes to drive to the upper & lower Mesa Falls Park. There are over 8 of the best blue ribbon Trout Stream & Rivers within 10 to 30 minute drive. If you love historic hotels that are truly committed to customer service and personal comfort this is your place. When I arrived home in Florida I received a text message from Randall asking if I left one of my fishing shirts in the room. After checking I was missing one of my expensive fishing shirts, Randall then without a question mailed it back to me at no charge, this was just the frosting on the cake for me. If you find yourself traveling anywhere near the St. Andrews Idaho area it would be in your best interest to contact Randall at the Silver Horseshoe Inn and book a few nights, you will surely not be disappointed.
