Wedding
We just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful time at your hotel. We were a little disappointed when we arrived that the restaurants and bar weren't open. Looking for a break from the wedding group we spoke to a young man named Zack, a security guard. We were so impressed with his professional demeanor and willingness to help us. Thank you so much Zack, The Rum Fish Grill was perfect and you were right the fish tank was incredible. Thanks again we will be back in the spring and tell all our friends. Matt C.
Great food, slow resort, helpful staff
We enjoyed our trip, even though much has changed since our last visit, primarily due to Covid. While it was an enjoyable trip, my husbands back was injured and he was unable to lift the luggage, fortunately Zach the tall security guard assisted and we were very appreciative. There was not a lot of people visiting, I guess as one would expect during these times. Our dinner at Rumfish was spectacular and you can't beat hanging out on St. Pete Beach.
Excellent Staff
My husband and I recently visited Tradewinds for a week long vacation and had an amazing trip. The resort was beautiful and the staff was incredibly helpful. Zach from security especially was a huge help to us as he helped us get all our luggage to our room and even came to our rescue when we accidentally locked ourselves out! We would definitely come back to vacation here again.
Disappointed
We just stayed here to attend a work conference. We would not come back. The view from the room was nice but the sleeping area was very cramped and small. The room was clean but it felt very old. All of the knobs on the faucets turned the wrong way. Our door to our room had a huge gap underneath that we had to throw a towel over to avoid the wind whistling through it and half our lights were either burnt out or didn’t work. The vent in the ceiling in front of the elevator on the 5th floor is dripping some sort of liquid. Watch yourself, if you are wearing a nice shirt you may end up with stains on it like I did. We went to check out and asked for a luggage cart and were told no... we couldn’t have one. We were told someone had to come and handle our luggage for us and we didn’t want that. We asked for a luggage cart when we checked in and were given one immediately. Of course after we made 6 trips to the car with all of our stuff we saw other guests of the hotel using luggage carts personally. When checking out we were not asked how the stay was or anything. It was probably a good thing they didn’t ask....
HOTEL CLOSED & DID NOT INFORM US
We made reservations mid July to stay at the resort with my sister, mom and all the grand-kids for one last get together before the school year starts. After we all drove there, we pulled into the resort to see cones and paper letters stating they closed and we could stay at Trade winds (we do not like that resort, which is main reason we wanted to stay at rumfish and waited till after July when they opened). Of course we drove over there and were informed the resort closed with no warning to any future guests or staff! We had to stay at Trade-winds, which was a horrible experience and ended up leaving our vacation stay early! (I am posting that experience on their page FYI) I am just still in shock that no one would call, email, or even text that the resort would not be open!! It would of saved us a drive and a lot of money! VERY disappointed!
