Café und Hotel am Holzhafen

this hotel is located at a very nice place by the river. I stayed here one night on a business trip. The major problems with the rooms are an intense stench of raw sewage ( inside the rooms and in the hallway), cobwebs in lamps and ceiling and in my room a vent not covered in the ceiling showing soot and black mold. Bellow the hotel there is a shop/workshop that starts making noise with engines very early in the day. Unbearable after a long flight. At arrival, there was no one at the reception at 17:00h even if i contacted them to let them know i would be arriving at that hour. The place was closed and desert. I had to make an international phone call to the hotel number at my expense. This got me talking to a lady that could not articulate a sentence in any other language then German. In the end I managed to understand that i should get a key from a coded keybox. Wifi is paid and expensive. I still had to use it to do my flight check in. I see no justification nowadays for charging for wifi in a hotel. Overall poor service and uncomfortable

I came here for two nights with my mum. It was a great location and the room was clean and comfortable with free parking. However the room was next to a train track... The website said the room was sound proof but it was summer and we needed the windows open... I think you can guess the rest! The next and most important problem was that we had booked an apartment with a kitchen but they didn't give this to us when we arrived and we were still charged the same amount (100 euros per night!) plus on top of that because we didn't have a kitchen we had the buffet breakfast in the hotel which we ended up having to pay extra for! We complained on check out but the lady didn't seem to care... Perhaps something was lost in translation?!

We stayed were for 3 nights with our little boy and the lady and gentleman in reception were so kind and helpful in every way possible anything we asked we got and it was child friendly. It's a lovely 3-5 min walk by the river into the village&is 2minutes away from the train station. Would highly recommend this place due to their friendliness.

Die Lage war für uns gut. Nicht gefallen · Die Begrüßung zum Frühstück viel nicht gerade freundlich aus. Wir sind spät angekommen und wurden nicht informiert, dass wir eine Frühstückszeit anzugeben haben. Wir hatten nochmal Glück und bekamen einen Tisch zugewiesen. Der Frühstückstisch war bereits gedeckt mit O-Saft im Glas, Kanne lauwarmen Kaffee und ein hartgekochtes Ei. Eine kleine Aufschnittplatte sowie Brötchen wurden an den Tisch gebracht. Das Zimmer ist in einem renovierungsbedürftigen Zustand. Die Dusche verdreckt in den Ecke, siehe Foto und mit einem uralten vergilbten Fön ausgestattet.

Wir hatten ein schönes Zimmer, ab 7Uhr morgens war dort sehr reges Treiben, weil sich im Gleichen Haus eine Augenarztpraxis und eine Physiopraxis befindet. Das Frühstücksangebot war vielfältig und gut. Preis/Leistung absolut in Ordnung. Gerne wieder.
