Not Following COVID Protocol
Reviewed 12 january, 2022
WARNING!!! I advised the staff and management the day of my reservation that I had tested positive for COVID. I offer to provide a copy of my received results that same day. All I was told was that wasn’t necessary. I had 24 hrs to cancel my reservation. My windows time had passed. When asked if I still kept my reservation what would be the protocol, the receptionist stated we don’t have one. Although I understand under normal circumstances, the 24hr cancellation policy would be applicable. I was contagious, and the CDC required me to stay home. I contacted the hotel within 1 hr after my results, hours before the scheduled check-in time. I find it very discouraging that this location encourages guests to come into the hotel, although they have tested positive. I was not turned away to stay at this hotel. I was just given the option of either keeping my reservation and potentially spreading this disease to other guests, staff or being out what I paid for the room. I am extremely surprised that during a global pandemic, Quality Inn would penalize their customers and would not reimburse them for a stay that never happened. I did not want to spread this disease, so I did cancel. I am out of the money I paid. I contacted management I have not received a response. It’s been over a week. I understand the hotel doesn’t have control over a guest that shows up with COVID and does not advise them and them potentially spreading it. Having a guest inform them ahead of time and then not encouraging them to cancel or to quarantine or follow any extra measures is very concerning.
Won't stay again

Free, onsite parking lot, small/limited for amount of rooms. Room's were clean, but musty smell as well as amenities were slight, pillows were small and uncomfortable. Towels were small and scratchy, bathroom amenities were minimal. No outside seating. Pleasant and friendly young man checked us in. Young lady was unfriendly and seemed high on something. Musty smell throughout hotel. Heavy odor of pot/marijuana/weed present all times of day, at times it seemed to be coming through the vents.
I’d expect more as far as cleanliness goes, especially in COVID times.

If you are the least bit picky about cleanliness and smells, keep looking. This room was very cheap. We were just looking for a place to crash on our way to North Carolina. The front desk staff was lovely. She was very friendly and helpful. When we walked into the room we were hit with the a strong stench of dirty dog, faint musty cigarette, and hotel room cleaner. The wooden furniture is dusty. The top sheet on the bed is no longer white, the duvet beneath has specks of blood, and the fabric bed frame has white smears of what is most certainly bodily fluids. Gross. I don’t even want to remove a pillow case to see what lies beneath. Buyer beware.
Spend the Extra Money, Go Across the Street to Comfort Inn
Reviewed 21 march, 2021
I've had the recent opportunity to stay at both of these Choice hotels that are literally across the street from one another. Last month I was at the Comfort Inn, and tonight I am writing this review from the Quality Inn. I wish I'd spent the extra money and stayed at the Comfort. Quality is a pet friendly hotel. Second time I've stayed here where I had to ask for a different room because I could smell "Fido" through the heavily applied perfumed room freshener. Tonight I had to open the window to air out the heavy perfumed air freshener when I went out to dinner, but at least this room didn't smell like Rover. How hard would it be to designate certain rooms as pet friendly and others as no pet? The rooms in this hotel are dated. That is a nice way to say beat up. The Comfort Inn across the street has found an innovative covid work around for serving breakfast to their guests. They give you a form at check in and you fill out what you want and at what time you plan to pick it up. It works well and the breakfast is pretty good for free hotel faire. I asked if there was a breakfast option when I checked into the Quality this evening and was given the all too familiar covid excuse, despite the electronic sign in front of the hotel advertising the "hot breakfast buffet special." Causes one to question how long the sign has been up now that were over a year into this pandemic. Guess what? I won't be back. Guess what else? I'll be informing the general manager that I slammed them in this review on my way out the door tomorrow.
Worked for a night

Late at night on the highway we started looking for a room for the night. We had our dog and it made it hard to get a room. Looking at reviews of other hotels prior to this exit and the reviews were real bad between bugs and drugs so we drove on. We called here and they had a room and allowed dogs. We arrived at 3AM just needed a couple hours of sleep. Everything was fine for what we needed and the front desk person was very nice. We slept until about 9 which was longer than planned but we checked out and hit the road again. Plan on keeping this hotel info for the next time we drive to Florida.
