Great interior design!

This was a beautiful hotel located near Stowe ski Mountain. When you enter, the lobby is just gorgeous. There's beautiful interior design everywhere you look. We went upstairs to the room. The hallway is quite narrow. When we entered our room, was just beautiful interior design and a beautiful bathroom. Everything remodeled and upgraded. We loved everything about the room. The breakfast was just wonderful with lots of treats available including a nice scone as well as cinnamon apples and also some Chia and coconut oatmeal. They also had La Colombe coffee which is amazing! The only thing that was strange to me was that while we were in the room, we could very clearly hear people walking outside in the hallway. I was awakened by this several times at night. I’m not sure how good the sound insulation is in the hotel. And I'm assuming this would be an issue if there were many people staying in the hotel. There is free parking available in the hotel parking lot.
Great mountain location

Exceptional lodge for the price. Breakfast was exquisite. It wasn't the typical breakfast with eggs and waffles, but it was SO WELL CRAFTED. My family love it. Such good taste in design. We will definitely come back here.
Cute Hotel that Needs Some Work

We spent two nights at the Field Guide Lodge. Overall, we were happy enough with the accommodations but the place needs some refreshing. Check-in & out went smoothly enough. The lobby area is large & decorated nicely. The upstairs hallway carpet was filthy & in dire need of a shampoo & the walls need to be repainted or touched up. Our room was very spacious & had a huge sitting area but it felt awkward with just 2 chairs across the room from each other. The bathroom was cramped, although the shower itself was huge. There was no place to set anything in the bathroom & the lighting was quite poor. We did receive a nice welcome bag of treats, maybe because we are Lark members ? The breakfast options were few and not all that appealing. We stayed at a sister property in Camden, Maine & their breakfast were along the same lines of individual servings but their choices were delicious. The hotel has lots of potential to be a great place, but right now it felt tired and a bit neglected. The website photos make it appear it was much more recently renovated. It wasn't a terrible stay we just saw lots of areas to improve. Loved the decor & cool interior furnishings.

I have to say after reading all the sterling reviews I expected quite a bit more for the price. We had a king room in the main lodge that was spacious but not so comfortable as the one chair in the room was a small armless rocker. The room was clean but even had a bit of trouble getting the window to close all the way. Since the room faced the street it was quite noisy by 730. Breakfast was served premade in small mason jars. Kale/ hard boiled egg, cold oatmeal, sometimes fruit or yogurt, juice, and croissants. I thought it was inadequate for a 5 mile hike later in the morning. Despite other reviewers I didn’t find the lobby that comfortable or inviting. Finally the hot tub wasn’t hot. Also a pre arrival email was sent out that everyone had to wear a mask inside which I have no problem with, but the staff wasn’t always adherent. Overall I was quite disappointed.
Great Property in Stowe!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Field Guide Lodge! We had a quiet, spacious king suite in the trail house. Large bathroom with separate tub and shower. Separate living room and bedroom, each with a TV. Bed was pretty comfortable. Small balcony. Living room had a fireplace but it is more for ambiance-did not seem to put out much heat. Nice that the windows opened so we could enjoy some fresh air. They also have a pool and hot tub--we did not get a chance to use either one, but the pool area looked nice. Loved the decor! Sort of a funky but modern '70's meets Swiss Army vibe. Furniture was comfortable and the suite was clean. Tasty and innovative breakfast--yogurt, fresh berries and a "breakfast salad" (greens with hard boiled egg and other ingredients) and a pastry each day. Croissant was delicious! Not the usual fare. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that the small fridge and in room Keurig coffee maker were just sort of plunked in the small closet in the main hall/entry way to the room. Would have liked to have seen this in the small wet sink/bar cabinet in the living room or in a dedicated small kitchen area. Nice to have the fridge, but seemed like an afterthought. Basically felt like staying in a small apartment but without a kitchen. All in all, very impressed with the property, easy online contactless check in and check out other than obtaining the key from the front desk. Would definitely stay again and would love to explore other Lark hotels!
