Good basic digs in heart of Stowe resort town

Nothing fancy rooms but clean and everything working including wifi. Put us right in the middle of Stowe in near peak fall foliage. Complimentary bikes for riding on the nearby Creekside trail were a nice way to end our stay. A fun collection of classic movie DVDs at the front desk. The host and Booking.com helped me get a cancellation of an inadvertent double-booking via Booking.com. It took some work but everyone stuck with it.
Clean motel, but in Stowe I wouldn't stay in a motel
Reviewed 7 october, 2021
You need to remember that this is a motel- it looks like one, it smells like one, and the people around you- they are motel people. As we stayed in September, things closed early and it was dark early, so we got to spend a lot of time in the room in the evening. The motel's staff were nice and they offer free DVDs to watch, but I have to be honest- if I knew that I would spend so much time in the room- I would choose a nicer place. For a motel though- it is clean, has nice staff, and is at a great location.
Nice Dog Friendly Stay in Stowe

We stayed one night at Stowe Motel with our dog while visiting Stowe. Staff were friendly at check in and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but spacious and clean. The location is convenient to restaurants, breweries and shopping in Stowe and short drive to trails and parks. Overall, a nice stay and we would stay here again if visiting the area, especially with a dog.
DIRTY SHEETS & DURING COVID!!!
Reviewed 27 september, 2021
I found evidence that I was sleeping in dirty sheets that had not been changed before our arrival. There was a bloody tissue between the sheets, which I found after I had slept in the bed for several nights. It looked like someone had cut themselves and blotted it with a tissue. Sleeping in someone else's dirty sheets--especially during COVID--is a serious breach of trust. I was upset, and when I brought the tissue to show the owner his response was, "We're short-staffed." No apology. I have stayed at the Stowe Motel with my daughter numerous times over the last dozen years, and never lodged any sort of complaint in the past. But this is beyond the pale. The place is more run-down than in previous years. The furniture is tired & worn-out. There were no working batteries in the remote or the clock on the wall. I learned that the Stowe Motel changed ownership four years ago. It appears to have gone downhill. But dirty linens are unacceptable--and during a pandemic it is morally wrong. Choose a more trust-worthy establishment, otherwise you can't be sure your sheets are clean. At first the owner offered to comp me one night for not giving a bad review. I refused. I told him I had slept for three nights in dirty linens--during COVID. I would not have stayed there at all, free or not, if it wasn't clean. I said I would not be back. There was no comp, which is fine by me. People should be forewarned. Go elsewhere.
Location is good, friendly service, but in need of updates.

If you're looking for a super experience, great beds and fantastic views, go spend $500/night at the ski resort. This location is good - walkable to many stores, bars, breweries and restaurants. However, the beds are not great, the decor is outdated and the place looks a bit in need of repair. Seriously, I don't remember ever using real keys at a hotel before. The woman who checked us in was super friendly and welcoming. There are bikes available to use for free (take then into town or down the public trail). We enjoyed the game room - an old pool table and ping pong.
