A perfect ending for a long day ...
We were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations and the friendly owners who live on the premises. The bungalow was clean & comfortable and we had a restful sleep. The pool was clean and the water warm :). Given the Covid19 slowdown in guests, the breakfast was minimal but adequate & they served fresh-brewed coffee, a definite thumbs up for that! When we visit the area again we will definitely book a room with this lodging.
Welcoming & homely
Stayed 2 nights. Enjoyed the lush garden and pool. Breakfast was comprehensive and delicious. Lovely friendly staff. Organised laundry. Didn't eat in but seems to have a good reputation for food. Very comfy rooms with fridge, TV (including English language channels). Lots of French guests and sells wine.
Lovely garden guesthouse
Booked on Agoda after positive reviews. Stayed 3 nights in superior room. Located between old and new Sukhothai and close to the bus terminal, about 5 mins by moto or 30 mins walking. Down a small laneway 10 minutes and away from the noise of traffic. Warm welcome by Khun Tee and given a cold glass of water and towel to cool off. He gave a map and all the information you need on how to get around and visit the historical sites. The bus stop is back on the main road and cost 30Bt. There are free bicycles to get to town in New Sukhothai about 15 mins by bike away. My room was spacious with a nice verandah overlooking the small swimming pool and shady garden. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom good with decent shower space. There was an old TV but only a couple of Thai channels. Refrigerator and hot water heater to make a cuppa. A lovely breakfast area overlooking the pond next door. Breakfast was average eggs, toast, tea or coffee and awful Tang orange. On the weekend when there was a large Thai group staying, the following morning was a better breakfast buffet with some local dishes. Food available and quite tasty at reasonable prices. So nice to come back to cool off in the pool after a hot and sweaty day touring the cultural sites. The owner has put a lot of effort into creating a nice ambiance and the garden is very lovely. Highly recommended. Tip - go to the walking street in new Sukhothai on Saturday evening for fabulous food and music. There is bicycle path that goes all the way from near the bus terminal to old Sukhothai about 12 km on a safe and shady pathway.
If you are there to visit the Old City, stay here
Travelling in Thailand is sometimes hit or miss. Sometimes you find a gem and this time was one of those times. When I arrived by bus, the Tuk-tuk of course over charged for the 2 km but when I arrived, I was upgraded to a better room in the old building with aircon. The two staff members were just great, I was taught some Thai or they tried to. It was fun and it is just a short walk out the Soi's or alleys to the main street with the songthoew route (30 baht) right to the old city. Food was good and the swimming pool was just great at the end of a hot day. Definitely recommended though it is not in the heart of the city for shopping.
Awesome stay!
What a wonderful place this is! We had a lovely bungalow with an extremely comfortable bed, opposite the small but clean swimming pool which is a real boon after a hot day at the historical park. You can clearly see that the owner takes pride in his garden. Extremely friendly staff and very reasonable prices, and a surprisingly good restaurant too. Bus stop is just down the road. Do stay here if you want to avoid the busy roads of New Sukothai. Would definitely come again!
