Great value for what you get. Our apartment was ocean view and plenty of space for three of us. Leo at the hotel bar did a great job of taking care of us and food was excellent. Drinks were even better than the food! Beach was perfect and there were plenty of families enjoying the day. Quieter resort at night.

Juan, Lorenzo, Mateus, Luca, and Zach were awesome. They always made sure we had everything we needed and always checked in to make sure we were comfortable. Juan gave us great recommendations about where to go for a night out and excellent dinner choices. Couldn't ask for better service.

The staff here at the bar/restaurant are phenomenal. Every single person! Friendly, helpful, always smiling! Can't say enough good things about everyone here! Will definitely be back overand over and over.
Not as pleasant or relaxing as we'd hoped

We love Marenas for its location and room amenities. A few things made our stay stressful and cheapened this resort's image; I hope they'll be addressed. I'll start with our last day. It's 4:30 and the "towel manager" at the beach tells us we need to return our towels. The problem: It's still early. The sun is out. We want to change into dry bathing suits in our room, then swim for another two hours. Paradoxically, "per policy" we can't take the towels to our room, yet we can't get new ones when we come down because the towel booth closes at 4:30. This was the first we'd heard of this policy in our entire two-week stay. It's not classy and it makes guests feel unwelcome. Did I purchase my stay so that I could steal towels? Can I not swim after 4:30? What if I had stayed on the beach, lying on my towel- would this man have come and kicked me off? How ridiculous. When I suggested that their schedule should more closely reflect how people actually spend their time on vacation, the front desk staff's attitude was basically "That's our policy, too bad," ignoring the fact that policies can and should change when they negatively affect people. Second issue: no efforts were made to enforce COVID-related elevator capacity restrictions (in contrast to the all-important towel policy!). Guests are left to hash it out amongst themselves. By now these restrictions probably no longer exist since we visited earlier this year. Third issue was the window cleaners (?). For the first week of our stay there was blue plastic on our bedroom windows and every day the window cleaners would make their way down the side of the building, blaring music, smoking cigarettes, and scraping the windows. Couldn't open the window or curtains. I complained and never received a response. Our room was very dusty and there was food on the floor outside the elevator for a week, so clearly nobody is cleaning the floors. Otherwise, it's all ok- I'm glad our room had a full kitchen and we had a nice view; we were comfortable enough and the front desk staff are friendly. If the issues above are addressed, I think this hotel could reach a more upscale caliber.

Made a mistake upgrading to a better room. Expensive hoodie was stolen during move. No umbrellas at beach, other hotels had their umbrellas out. Service non existent. Communication and polices are immaculate. Rooms are old and need updating.
