Upon arrival there was no warm welcome. In fact the receptionist was on the phone and did not acknowledge us. She then proceeded to a long list of questions despite this being an ongoing online booking and all details were given at the time. She then read from a crib sheet as to do’s and don’t’s including don’t drink the water. Our room was slightly bigger than the bed which had no headboard and the bedside lamps had different bulbs in. The TV was about the size of a A4 sheet of paper!. The mattress appeared to be a cheap foam mattress and offered no real support and sagged in the middle. The view over the bay was good however correctly fitting curtain on the window would have helped keep the light out. The room was stuffy despite turning the radiator off and opening the small window. The bar area was clean but the round Formica topped tables were reminiscent of a working men’s club! We didn’t sample the food whist there opting for eating in town To summarize this hotel needs money being spent on it to compliment theGrand in its title

Charming small hotel, marvelous views over the ocean and bay . Very peaceful and quiet, we had such a restful weekend.Great staff, very friendly and they gave excellent service. The Bar and waiting staff were delightful , attentive and very professional, a special thank you to Owen and Sam. The restaurant menu was very limited, would have liked a wider choice, but what we had was great quality and well presented. The breakfast was cooked to order and very fresh. Drinks a little pricey, priced slightly above average for the area. Overall a lovely weekend and definitely return

Everything was great; room, cleanliness, decor, food and staff. I can think of nothing negative to say about the Grand and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Swanage. I have to write 200 words so would just reiterate what I’ve already said.

Lovely hotel with views of the sea from the breakfast area and bar. Room 30q decent size - only thing I would mention is that the curtain on one of the windows is missing, meaning the sun wakes you up. Breakfast was lovely - staff were nice. Would visit again - especially at the price of £99 for two nights including breakfast!!!! What a bargain.

Excellent Hotel in a great location. Friendly staff, always around. Large clean room with comfortable bed and sea view, clean and modern bathroom with a great shower. Walked down the steps to the beach and carried on to the shops and restaurants. My husband and I will definitely stay here again.
