Poor communication but very willing to take your money where it isnt earned
Attempted to stay for four-five nights for two beds but booking was cancelled which I wasn't informed off despite paying a Deposit. They only had a single bed for two nights available which I took and paid for (resulting in myself sleeping on the floor). Came back the next day to stay for second night of floor sleeping and my room has been given to someone else. Truly an awful experience and an absolute scam. With a few phone calls it could have easily been resolved
Great location
Ideal location only couple minutes walk from Darling Harbour and Sydney CBD. As they say .. you pay for what you get .. small price for small room with no aircon up the top of winding narrow stairs but very hot with no windows to open in summer. If you are after lux go elsewhere and pay top dollar.
Extremely arrogant owner manager who ignored safety issues in dorm room & my complaint about abusive room mate !
Paid in advance on booking.com & checked in. Owner manager refused to lend a hand with my luggage up the stairs. Broken window (no glass & broken fly screen), extremely poor lighting, no bench tops nor lockers at all, the only power board was sparkling with one room guest's international charger in our room. Main entrance on street level is unlocked all the time due to door unable to swing back in place properly to automatically lock door. Room was extremely congested with obstacles which is a fire hazzard. Room mate was abusive when I informed her that her charger was sparkling fire. When I told owner manager, he ignored the issues reported. Finally, I had to call police before I could receive a full refund late that night to go to another backpacker.
A Non Stay.
This is a sort of non review as we did not get the chance to stay. We had booked thru one of the major booking company's and had received confirmation including a welcome from the Peg Leg giving us the security code for the door to allow us to leave our bags if we arrived before 2pm. Upon arriving we were told by the only staff member working that there was no record of our booking. Despite showing him the confirmation there was no way we were getting in, sorry he did offer a room with one single bed for the two of us for an extra $30 but we had to decline the generous offer. He blamed the booking company who in turn blamed the Peg Leg, some 6 weeks later we still have not received a refund from either. The staff member on the day did not even bother to ask for our details so it could perhaps be followed up by them or if the booking company was to contact them in regard to the matter. Therein is another problem, the PegLeg is impossible to contact by phone, the booking company has attempted a number of times as have we. Strange way to conduct business and we will avoid both the PegLeg and the particular booking company in future.
