Stunning experience

Reviewed 16 september, 2021

An absolutely gem! We had a wonderful, 2-day stay. Everything was simply perfect-- the warm welcome from Amy and lovely staff throughout. The food was unbelievably good - although be aware that meals are on a long table of around 12 couples. We enjoyed all the company but that cannot be guaranteed. The actual hotel and rooms are stunning and the drinks served in a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely return.

Beautiful Hotel, Amazing Staff

Reviewed 6 september, 2021

We stayed for one night on our way to Orkney at the end of August. About a mile and a half from the hotel we hit an enormous pothole (beware of this throughout the area on the smaller roads) wrecking a front tyre and as it subsequently transpired also bending the wheel. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful. David contacted a local garage, came to find us, escorted us back to the hotel, took details of the tyre and phoned it through to the garage, meanwhile Amy greeted us with a large whisky and a tour of the beautiful hotel. The next day we were able eventually to continue on our journey after the fantastic local garage un-bent the wheel and replaced the tyre. As it was all touch and go Ali meanwhile let us stay in our room until early afternoon and made contingency plans for a second night stay. Beyond the excellent service the hotel is wonderful, the newly decorated rooms and public spaces are bold and stylish but comfortable. Dinner was lovely and breakfast was also delicious. I highly recommend staying here.

Homely luxury and something quite different

This was our first stop from Inverness Airport at the start of our drive of North Coast 500. It is a lovely place and owned by Glenmorangie Distillery. It has recently been refurbished, dramatically, and it has great colours. If you are not told, ask about the giraffes! We had a really nice room, large with a very large bed, sofa and two arm chairs around a coffee table. Pre-dinner drinks were 7pm for 7.30pm and everyone congregated in the lounge and were offered an already made cocktail. After some chatting two canapés were served before everyone being called into dinner. There were two tables of 6. There was no seating plan, you just sat where you fancied. It was a set menu but obviously dietary requirements had already been taken into account. The food was very good. After dinner everyone was invited into another lounge for post dinner drinks. Most people took the opportunity of trying a different Glenmorangie or two, or three. This is something very different and probably not for everyone but for us it was a wonderful start to our trip.

Really great place. We enjoyed our stay here, from the great welcome until an excellent breakfast. The decoration of all the public rooms and our bedroom was quirky and amazingly effective. Lovely walk down to the beach. Superb dinner, and really good service. Only sorry we were only there one night.

Great location

My wife & I had a 2 night stay at Glenmorangie House during a tour of The Highlands. We had originally booked a standard room but found it to be quite small albeit but with really different almost whacky decoration. We elected instead to go into a cottage which we found to be more spacious and relaxing and ultimately very quiet. We did have an issue with hot water in the bathroom however this was efficiently resolved by ‘ David ‘ the house manager. Dinner & breakfast on both days were of excellent quality. Another staff member of note was Amy who looked after us for dinner & drinks each evening and who managed to be both extremely personable & efficient. One thing to be aware of is that you will be on a dining table with complete strangers, albeit in a very Covid safe way. This worked very well for us on the first night with some really compatible couples but less so on the second night. Definitely worth a visit though as it all adds up to a quality experience
