Needs an update

I arrived at the property and the room’s bed was unmade with the sheets on top where I can definitely see the stains on the bed from previous stays. The restaurant and bar were closed M-W making one leave property for dinner. No room service either.
Unexpected game day treat

Great staff and great game weekend extras. We have stayed at other hotels on game day and none have compared to this one. Mimosa and plastic purses for the ladies. Shuttle service to game and back. The staff is tremendous friendly and helpful. Room was clean and we like the location.
Good Stay Choice Near State Offices

The location of the Four Points Downtown is excellent if you have business near the State Capital. The rooms are sanitized and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Parking is included and is convenient. Walking to downtown is a real option along with ride sharing if you prefer not to drive. The hotel did not include breakfast but the free parking made up for that and breakfast was available until 11:00. The bar and restaurant for evening use is only open Wednesday through Sunday but there are plenty of nearby food eateries a short ride away. The suite we had was well appointed and the view is excellent from all sides because this is a round hotel. The hotel offers free shuttle but we didn’t take advantage. Our stay was a Monday overnight and the hotel was not anywhere near overbooked.
Mid Century Dated

I picked this hotel because of the location and the modern look. I was surprised to find that it was just old. The rooms were small and not what you expect for modern travel. (i.e. few plugs for gear, dark rooms, no mini fridge in room, no microwave in room). Don't think about this for business. There is one cordless phone on the bedstand but the receiver didn't work, I had to use a speakerphone on the base. I tried calling the front desk to ask where the ice machines were (they had 3 on different floors) But the front desk didn't answer. I walked downstairs to ask and saw the desk clerk was engaged in an extended conversation on the phone. The buttons in the elevator had paint rubbed off and hard to read. My biggest gripe was when checking in the clerk had no idea what Bonvoy Platinum means or that I was entitled to a complimentary breakfast. Her supervisor said I could choose a free breakfast in lieu of my points. This was after I called to insure that the hotel had complimentary breakfast for Marriott Elite members. Nothng to see here.
