Host enters apartments without wearing a mask
Hello, this place has $50/night rate, cheapest in Tamarindo but comes at a cost and has it's downside. - Our view at the apartment was the barbed wired - Water pressure very weak and hard to take a shower - Kitchen faucet doesn't close well, you have to keep few turns before turning it off - Host (Michele) entered our private room without wearing a mask. We heard him few times yelling at his staff which made us uncomfortable.

I hope you get to read this review for your own good and avoid a horrible HOST experience just like mine on your next trip. I was supposed to checkout around March 26th however given the wifi was not working in my apartment ( I've already informed the host that I will be working remotely), I asked Michele if I can checkout earlier on March 13th so that I can work remotely peacefully, after few complaints and without a solution, I sent screen recordings and videos showing that the wifi disconnects all the time and the signal is weak. Michele declined my reservation change request and told me I am DISCREDITING HIM AT HIS OWN PROPERTY :(. This made me feel completely uncomfortable so I couldn't give up on my request and started dealing with the Airbnb support team. Once the refund request got accepted, on the checkout day, around 10:30 am, the host knocked brutally on my apartment door and started yelling at me to get out. I opened the door and told him my bags are already packed and I am on a work-related call. I closed the door and continued talking on the phone. Still, before the checkout time, he unlocked and entered the apartment and told me to "GET OUT NOW". I had to shut off the laptop and get my things out immediately. I rushed to the property gate with all my belongings. (All other guests are witnesses at the time). The host immediately locked the property (Usually the gate is locked at 6 pm) and told me to get out. I stayed on the street for about 30-45min looking for a cab. Then I found out from people in town and on google, Tripadvisor that this person already has a history of violence and fraud. (Google his name Michele stalla complaint ripoff tamarindo blue)
place was very tired, with a rock hard bed
If you are used to staying in hostels this place is for you. The place was very tired, with a rock hard bed that made sleeping very hard. The bedding and towels were old, bleech stained and had holes in them. There were lots of ants in the kitchen even though we made sure not to keep food out. The place had a smell of septic the odd time. The futon couch we very uncomfortable to sit on. The kitchen was very small but had the very basics. Cleaning and maintenance staff were nice. Pool was nice. Provided cleaning and laundry service which was nice.
Started out nice, ended badly
We were a little disappointed with the room compared to the photos on the website, but that was a small point. As for the area, was good, close walk to the beach and amenities, pool was nice and the cleaning staff and property maintenance guy were very friendly and gracious. Problem came with the ownership that when the Canadian government forced us to come home, he would not refund ANY amount of the extra MONTH we paid for. So, if you ever stay here, pay only one week at a time. Just disappointing, that is all.
Blue Apartment Dump!!!!!!!
I booked a 6 day trip and paid over $600. Because of COVID Pandemic my trip was delayed 5 days. The manager refused to change my dates and refused to refund my money. So we stayed 1 night for $600. The rooms are infested with large ants. There is no hot water to shower and the electricity goes off quite often. You are stuck for long periods in total darkness. It finally comes back on eventually. We packed our bags and got the hell out of there. We went north 20 minutes and stayed at the Westin for $300 per night all inclusive. Its worth every penny. Thank you Westin for saving us from the trip from Hell!!!!!
