I wasn't sure what to expect as I usually stay at higher end hotels. I stayed off and on here for a week and was more than satisfied. This hotel has an updated design and is spotless. Front desk staff were very helpful and professional and automatically offered Bonvoy perks. The only glitch I encountered is that the first waterside room I was given had a terrible musty smell that I could not tolerate. However, the front desk staff quickly accommodated my request to switch rooms and the other rooms I had that week were fine. Rooms were bright, spacious, very comfortable and updated. I like that the rooms had engineered wood floors rather than wall to wall carpet. There was plenty of desk space and outlets for electronics. Linens were clean and crisp and housekeeping service was excellent. Bathroom was pretty basic but water pressure was good. I do not like the large bottles of shampoo etc. in the shower that anyone can open. There were no free water bottles provided at check-in or in the room, The hotel gift shop had a really good selection of snacks and sundries. I don't know why the Starbucks in the hotel closes mid-afternoon. However, the baristas there were very efficient. Service in the the hotel restaurant was extremely slow for breakfast and dinner. Valet service was fairly quick. However, roads are confusing around here so I found it easier just to take Uber which always came within 3-4 minutes, I was pleasantly surprised at the caliber of this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Awesome Staff and Pool!

We weren't actually staying here at this Marriott. We were at the JW Marriott that is connected by a footbridge. However, as a Marriott guest, you are allowed to use their pool. My kids wanted to use the pool since they had "docks" you could swim to and jump off. I also liked the bar with TV's was right next to pool. (It's a bit more removed at JW) I cannot say enough nice things about the staff at this hotel. When getting the key to the pool in the lobby, the front desk staff was super friendly, and gave my 5 year old a small stuffed animal both times. He was beyond thrilled. Such a nice touch! The pool area staff was also just great. The bartender was great and very friendly. (Didn't catch her name, but it was on Sunday 11/7). The pool attendant, Bruce, was just fantastic. He went above and beyond, getting kids a raft to play on, providing complimentary water, and over all just being a super nice guy! He is definitely an asset to your hotel and is the reason we will book at this Marriott next time in Tampa!
Staff Shortages On Busy Weekend Equal Slow/No Service

We spent four days here to take in a Bucs football game, eat some great food, and hit a few of the museums, Hotel is beautiful and well located, but in terms of service, we should have saved hundreds of dollars and stayed at a Hampton or Fairfield. Wait list for dinner one night (we were told earlier no reservations) was two hours, even though many empty tables. Restaurant on waterside wasn't even taking people for a wait list. Outside bar/lounge had one bartender for dozens of people. Lobby bar same situation; one server for 40+. And bartender, up to his eyes in customers, was not in a friendly mood! When I complained to food service manager, she explained that the hotel was having a hard time hiring. Surprising, since nearby restaurants at which we ate (Jackson's and Harpoon Harry's) had plenty of availability and no waits. When I asked manager what hotel occupancy was, she said 100% for the night. My response? Why would your GM book full occupancy when he/she knew you were so short-staffed? Think service! At $300-plus for several of the nights, we deserved better.

Very disappointed this visit. Platinum member and the front desk argued with me about my reservation. Did not care that I was not happy. I was there for a birthday and they wanted a specific room. We did not get it. The hotel was nice. I told them I emailed the person who sent me a welcome and was told it is unmonitored. They get too many to be able to answer them. My reply was never returned as a unmonitored and was sent to a person not a mailbox. They really don’t care about making guest happy here. Expensive room to not get what you want. The water views are nice.

Wife and I went to see Clapton at the Amelie Arena. This location is awesome! We checked in on Friday. Left on Sunday morning. The Valet was friendly and easy. Checking in was helpful and professional! We had a corner room on the 24th floor. It had a beautiful view of the bay! Our room was clean and comfortable. Our view was spectaculer!
