Don't have the Breakfast. It's uncooked.

Reviewed 6 november, 2021

We went for a Breakfast on the 6/11/21. The kids in charge. Were very pleasant. We ordered the Breakfast. 3 quarters of a hour later it appeared. Cold. The Black pudding was uncooked..The toast wasn't toast because the bread wasn't toasted. The eggs were not cooked. But very runny. The sausages were not cooked. It was awful. A Basil Fawlty attempt, at cooking a breakfast . Don't go to the MaltHouse unless you want your stomach to be maltreated.

The Maltings

Reviewed 5 november, 2021

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The restaurant was clean and well presented but the food was poor. My son's burger bun was burnt and the fries very hard, my lasagne was over salted in my view. I had sticky toffee pudding for dessert and couldn't believe that it didn't taste sweet enough! The staff were friendly but it took so long to receive the bill that in the end I put my coat on and went to the bar to settle up.

Needs management.

Reviewed 20 october, 2021

This place is in dire need of some grown ups in management or positions of some authority, rather than just employing kids, a few of whom are working really very hard, while others are too busy playing with their phones. It’s worth noting that this hotel has no reception as such, just a totally chaotic end of the bar operated by whichever member of staff is unfortunate enough to be nearby. The rooms were ok, even if the heating ceased to operate half way through our October visit, the food was just very average, and came with a very distinct feeling that it was being presented in a very stressful manner by the few staff who appeared to be actually working. It wasn’t as if they were short staffed due to Covid or brexit, just that they were totally disorganised and not managed. Still, we’re sure the proprietors are enjoying the profits they’re making.

Delightful stay in Ironbridge

Reviewed 20 october, 2021

Six friends decided on a two night stay in Ironbridge. Right from our initial call we were delighted with the service we had from all concerned. Our rooms were clean and imaginatively furnished. There was room for three or four cars to be parked outside our rooms. Also room to park at the Swan a few yards away. The Malthouse is perfectly sited on the warf close to the river. There is a large covered tented area outside ideal even in some inclement weather. We ate in the restaurant both nights and despite being busy (a good sign) the service and food were excellent. I can recommend the pork belly and the lasagne. The breakfasts were various and good . The full English was prepared with care and lasted me all day! Close to all amenities , the Blists Victorian village was worth the entrance fee and deserves a four hour visit (food and entertainment on site). It is worth knowing that some museums are closed Monday and Tuesday. We will return to take advantage of live music on a Friday and Saturday at the Malthouse. Well done Malthouse.

Weekend Break

Reviewed 27 september, 2021

Stayed here for a weekend break with my husband. We arrived early (1pm) and our room was ready for us. We stopped in the "JADE" room. The room was clean, quite minimalistic but nice all the same. The bed was comfy, but on the small side, bathroom had a large walk in shower with ample hot water. No view out of the window other than a hedge. If you are looking for a quiet room then do not book the Jade room as it is directly over the bar area and the walls vibrate from the music in the bar. This did not cause us any issues, but may do for others. The music went off at 11.30pm. The overall layout of the hotel is good, having a large outside undercover seating area, and a separate bar/disco room inside, along with a large dining area on the other side of the hotel. The bedrooms were all secured through an additional door at the top of the stairs. As we stayed on a Saturday there was a DJ on from 5pm in the bar, and then a live band on at 9.30, both were excellent and created a very good atmosphere. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the quality of the food was amazing!! A+++++ Lonely and fresh, piping hot and totally delicious!! We also had breakfast the next morning an that was out of this world, again cooked to order and piping hot. Staff were friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely weekend break and I would defiantly recommend this hotel to others. We will certainly be returning!!
