More about the hotel
Friendly and very nice
I have spent there one night on my pilgrimage way to Rome. It is very friendly place for pilgrims. Rooms are clean and very, very nice. Breakfast is fantastic. Beautiful restaurant is just next door so you have all you need in one place.
Beautiful Medieval village setting
Beautiful, cozy, set in the Mountaintop village of Stroncone, Italy. Welcoming hosts, unique, a great choice! A little "out of the way", but the drive to had some beautiful views. An excellent local restaurant 20 meters down the street. You must park in local public parking, then walk to the hotel. About a 6 min walk, using a town elevator (lift) to go up to the main street level from the parking area, but well worth the small effort to get there!
Stunning little gem
Our son had stayed here and highly recommended it. Paola was so hospitable and kind, the room was lovely, the hotel quieter than anywhere we've ever stayed. I just cannot recommend a stay here highly enough.
Time machine
This great little inn is located in the former prison of this great hidden gem of a city. Stroncone is an as yet almost undiscovered and untouched small medieval city, so go now before the crowds come. Small, but cozy rooms. Excellent restaurant just next door.
Charming
A charming hotel in an ancient walled city in Umbria. The building dates back at least 500 years and is sympathetically restored. There aren't many rooms, but ours (room 4) was very pleasant with windows opening on to the small via. Late afternoon some of the elder local woman would gather opposite for a knit and natter. Inside the walled city it is difficult to imagine everyday modern life going on. Very clean, plenty of hot water and an adequate breakfast. Staff/ owners really peasant and helpful. Despite being such a quaint area this isn't a tourist place. Not a lot of English spoken, but hey, that's not such a bad thing sometimes!
