Lovely B &B

Reviewed 16 november, 2021

I stayed for 2 nights, in a clean and nicely decorated en suite room, which had everything I needed. The lovely host also ensured I had cutlery and honey for the food I’d brought with me. Breakfast is available, and can be arranged in advance. I would recommend it as a peaceful stopover, so much nicer than a lot of hotels.

Highly recommend, The Poplars bed and breakfast.

The Poplars B&B is clean, tidy and well appointed. We were particularly impressed by our hosts professionalism, friendliness and OUTSTANDING cooked breakfast. Thank you Amanda, your adorable family and of course the puppy.

An excellent overnight stay for a weary cyclist

The Poplars was an exceptional overnight stay during my cycle trip. I had a large double room which was of a very high standard. Excellent ensuite with tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast was excellent as was the dining room. Secure storage facility for my bike. Amanda went out of her way to give you a warm welcome making you feel at home and relaxed. If visiting Thirsk in the future this would be my first choice for accomadation.

A perfect place to stay, with exceptional service.

Myself and my wife stayed for 2 nights recently. Fantastic standard of accommodation in the cabin we had, which is separate to the main house. Secure parking right outside our door. Lovely surroundings and nice and quiet. Amanda, our host, was a pleasure to meet and deal with, going out of her way to organise breakfast for us both and deliver it to our cabin. Surrounding area is great, couple of pubs, a shop and the train station all within 5 minutes walk. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, would highly recommend.

Another fantastic stay at the poplars. We stayed in the granary cottage which is a lovely one bedroom cottage with the biggest bed. Lovely lounge with good kitchen facilities and dog friendly. Close to thirsk race course and train station. Nice local pubs and lots to do. We would highly recommend staying here.
