Hidden gem!
Opinión escrita el 21 de enero de 2023
A hidden gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of St Pete beach. What was suppose to be a 2 night stay, ended up being extended. Location was beautiful, on a marina in a quiet residential area. Our room overlooked the marina and adjacent restaurant (Island Grille and Raw Bar, not part of the hotel). I was concerned that it would be too loud but nightly musicians ended at 9 and it was nice to sit on the balcony and watch them. It was a quiet time of the year, and bar/restaurant were not super busy, so not sure how this would be in the busy months. Hotel had two pools, the hotel adjacent to the hotel was heated, plenty of chairs and a great view. There was also access the marina pool, which was much larger but not heated. Towels were provided at the hotel and the front desk had wristbands for the marina pool. Rooms were huge, ours was a one bedroom, corner room, with a balcony overlooking the marina and a large slider that opened from the living room area. The bathroom was huge with a counter top that ran the length of the room. The rooftop bar had nightly drink specials as well as happy hour and a nice selection of food. Sunsets were spectacular! Fort de Soto was about a 5-10 min drive. Downtown St Pete 20 minutes, Tampa 35 minutes, and St Pete Beach/Treasure Island 15 minutes. FREE parking! Area was perfect for walking/jogging. Free breakfast was good, pastries, eggs, yogurt, etc. Weekends there were prepackage waffles. Coffee area had oat and almond milk. Will definitely be back!

More of a party hotel than a peaceful beachy getaway
Opinión escrita el 7 de enero de 2023
We stayed here for a long weekend in October and had such a wonderful experience we decided to come back for a week in January. Unfortunately, this time around was a completely different experience. In October, the hotel wasn’t overly crowded, even on the weekend. We had a marina view balcony room and saw manatees and dolphins every day. The hotel was quiet and we slept great. During our stay this January, the hotel has been packed. But it’s not just crowded - it seems that every room around ours is filled with multiple people here for a party. The room above us, the room next to us and the room across from us have each been up until 2am making all kinds of noises & blasting music (independently - it’s not a group traveling together). And we aren’t even on the 5th or 6th floors which are apparently full of wedding guests that are probably doing the same thing. The atmosphere here is great if you want to party, but not if you’re looking for a peaceful beachy getaway. Also, the water is too cold for manatees right now, so the wildlife we enjoyed in October isn’t even a highlight. That said, the free parking & location is convenient and the hotel is relatively new and clean (even though the soundproofing is subpar given the noisy guests). The rooftop is very nice. The breakfast is good for an inexpensive hotel breakfast buffet, but nothing terribly special. (Though the woman who manages it is very sweet.) Another thing to be aware of: they don’t do room upgrades for elite members & late checkouts are hard to come by too. Front desk staff is hit or miss and most of them seem uninterested in customer service. I would try this hotel once more in the off season, but never again during peak times.

Another good visit at Tierra Verde

The only improvements for me would be a return to waffle makers and a friendlier front desk guy. My kids hated the packaged waffles. The front desk guy who checked me in was not rude but definitely not welcoming. Maybe he had something else going on. Everything else was wonderful.

Hotel is understaffed
Opinión escrita el 8 de decembre de 2022
While this hotel is lovely and new, the customer service at this hotel ruined our experience. Our room was not properly cleaned when we arrived. We advised the front desk, but the cleaning staff didn't clean our room once during our 4 night stay. We also had trouble locating anyone at the front desk. The hotel seemed very understaffed and some of the employees were rude.
