Friendliest and best customer service ever experienced in France!
Just got back home from staying 4 nights here. Never have great expectations from french hotels but was really impressed with this team including the lovely maid who spoke perfect English. For 3 stars this hotel was in a great location and the the food was much better than we expected. As long as you don’t mind some of it being luke warm and avoid the soup ( never tasted anything so horrid). No tea/coffee making facilities in the room or available lunch or evenings. Bar area very welcoming, prices reasonable and the cabaret show was good fun. Hand sanitiser was available as you entered the restaurant. The entertainers were very funny! Reception very helpful and restaurant staff work hard. The hot water in our bathroom only seemed to come through between 1pm - 5pm on the 4th floor. Bed was ok and room fine for 3 stars. I would visit again despite my comments as you can work around these issues, especially when the staff are approachable.
Excellent animation team - bravo!
We stayed there over Carnaval holiday week. The Hotel had a team of young, motivated, engaged animation team, both for children but also for adults. This was very appreciated, evenings had great programs, and afternoons were fulfilled with games and other activities. We felt welcome!! Just excellent to see young generation in such an attractive setting. My kids loved it! Thank you guys, carry on!
Maplins in the snow.
Worst beds ever, totally unsuitable after a days skiing, very uncomfortable cheap, lumpy mattresses. Job lot possibly from an army surplus. Dire food, piled high and eat as much as you like, which of course means the quality suffers...ooh the bland soup and those barely warm oven chips. The 'entertainment' in the bar....good grief.
“Faulty towers” meets “Apprentice”
Recently rebranded from Hotel Diva to Belambra Club. First the positives - good sized rooms, bathrooms that are being replenished, decent bar and common areas, nice staff (subject to below), something on every evening and good for kids. Good location and boot room. Family run atmosphere. The not so good - some of the staff need to be somewhere else and let the rest down being unhelpful at meal times and clowning around, the food can poor (especially on meat alternatives but the gala night is v good); there’s no drinks for children for evening meal unless water (with mint cordial from bar if want it), there’s almost too much effort being made badly (hence apprentice comment in title) and there was no interconnecting rooms as we had two young children so had to split them between us. With a few tweaks being changes to the menu and some staff being shown the door, this has good potential. If I was to return, I’d need to see these changes to re book on balance.
Would not return, dreadful food
First the positives.... bedrooms are clean, although a little on the small side and could do with more drawer space but this was ok for us. The bar area was decent size so getting a seat never a problem. Bar staff friendly and drink prices reasonable. Hotel could benefit from refurbishment yet is very well located. We stayed half board and the quality of food is the reason none of our group would return. Breakfast was awful and by the end of the week I was skipping it. Runny eggs, cold bacon and smoked sausage. Cereal ran out, fruit cocktail was served frozen. Evening meals were dreadful and likely contravening health standards. One night baked chicken was served that was severely under cooked. As well as our party, a number of people were complaining. Having stayed a Balambra hotel in another resort, I was quite taken aback at the dip in food quality. Our group ended dining out on two occasions it was that bad. If there is one area the hotel should look to quickly improve upon is the standard of food.
