More about the hotel
Comfortable beds and clean
It was a nice hotel, but 3 stars at best. The beds are very comfortable, and the Wifi is good. TV was terrible for winding down at night, but that is not a big deal. The most frustrating thing was room service. We tried 3 times to order. First we did not get a menu in the room and had to call the front desk to get one. Then each time we called the person answering not only did not speak any english (ok, I know it is in Mexico so not mandatory but they market to US travelers pretty heavily) but when we read the spanish side of the menu so it should have been clear they still got our orders wrong. And yes I speak enough spanish to know the order was correct. It was a salad so it should have been simple, but the person answering the phone clearly did not know their own menu. So, good price, but amenities a little lacking.
There for a family member's medical procedure.
My wife and I went to Tijuana, to support a family member's medical procedure. I was a little hesitant, due to some of the bad information about this city (and this hotel). Wow, was I ever wrong! The hotel staff were extremely kind and helpful. Most of them spoke fluent English, so I never had to use my phone to translate. The rooms were beautiful, particularly the bathrooms. The hotel itself has a nice little bar, with a few beers on tap, more in bottles, and a wide selection of mixed drink choices and liquor. There is also a restaurant, which I ate at 3 times during my stay, and I would rate that an overall 4 stars. The wifi is strong, and we had no problem streaming movies, or playing any of our games in our room. The beds are comfortable. The only negative is that they do not have double queens, only double double beds, which are not big enough for two people each. There is a mall across the street, which while fun to walk through, is pricey for Tijuana. Though, there is a general store that is part of the mall, that has very good prices. We did take a cab to Revolucion, and did a little shopping. That's still the place to go, to strike deals and have fun, though most recommend going there in a group, or during the day. It is about a 15 minute ride, from the hotel, which cost us 14 dollars round trip. I would highly recommend the Real Inn, if you are planning a trip to this area!
Very nice hotel
Went to a convention there, very nice place, they even brought us refreshments & mexican bread for the conferences. Very centrically located, right across from the Zona Rio shopping center, you can find food, tacos, tortas & just about anything your heart might desire.
Excellent Location, that’s all good I can say
Excellent Location, that’s all good I can say On Oct 2019 my husband and I stayed for a night at Real Inn Tijuana. It’s a good hotel for spending a night. The entrance it’s very complicated, not well marked, and the lobby it’s not welcoming. LOCATION: The hotel is walking distance to Plaza Rio and CECUT, and lots of restaurants and activities. ROOMS: Our room 1603 has a view to El Cuahutemoc roundabout. It was medium size with two full beds. No outlets near the beds. - Views: El Cuahutemoc roundabout. - Illumination: The room it’s well illuminated, it needs more lamps near the bed. - Beds: Mattress was good. I slept very well. But I found two long and curly hairs near the pillows… disgusting. - Noise: No noise. - Cleanliness: It was not very clean, my socks were dirty. SERVICE: The staff is not very friendly. - Wi Fi: Fast. - Swimming Pool: Nil. - Gym: Nil. - Common areas: Lobby not welcoming. - Business Center: Nil. - Transportation: Nil.
Nice hotel
The business we came to interact with put us up in this hotel. We were Pleasantly surprised! The room with 2 full beds was LARGE. We LOVED the large window looking towards the Tijuana airport. Room had air conditioning, desk with chair, plenty of drawers, chair with ottoman, t.v. But the only English stations I found were CNN and FOX news. A small Safe ( but no instructions) small coffee machine, ice down the hall, but NO mini fridge. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. Pillows too. Room service. Exercise room with weights, treadmill, elliptical, weight machines, clean towels and filtered water. Excellent! Bathroom has large “rainfall” shower head, but beware, the marble floor is slippery! Bath and body works toiletries and blow dryer. The overhead lighting in the rooms were small “puck” lights 1 over each bed, one in the entry and 1 over the seating area, (also a small desk lamp) so it seemed a little dark for my liking. free WiFi but unsecured network. Also had to keep reconnecting my devices. Grocery store across the street, safe neighborhood. Close to the border. Overall rooms were clean and staff was friendly. I don’t know the value of the room since I did not pay for the service, but I would recommend this hotel.
