Really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Niwa Tokyo. Highly recommended.

Really excellent Hotel. Second time I visited. Staff can speak English well. Room service very good. Always plenty of tea, coffee, bottled water and very nice bathroom accessories. Food was amazing and all the staff were very helpful. Really happy that I could easily book taxi to Haneda airport easily. Very well located near Suidobashi station. I will certainly be staying again at Hotel Niwa when I next get the opportunity to visit Tokyo and highly recommend the Hotel if you are staying in Tokyo. 本当にありがとうございました。 Everything was awesome!!

Near the train station, and friendly staffs!

A big thank you to N.Sano, she was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful! She helped us with the check-in, extended our stay and delivered our luggages to the our other destination. The hotel itself was very cool, it had a relaxation room, siphon coffee, and massage chairs. The location was good as well, 5 minute walk to the suibo station to get around the city. Also 7/11 and familymart were less than a 5 min walk too for snacks and drinks! The room is pretty small, we had the superior room and switched to the standard room which you can really tell the size difference. If you're booking a room for 2 people, I would recommend the superior room. The rooms were pretty clean, however, you may notice some dusty areas like the edge of the walls/floors. But overall it was still fine for the price. Bathrooms were clean and they provided a lot of essentials (comb, brush, qtip, hair ties, etc).

Peace and Tranquility

Reviewed 9 january, 2023

I stayed here for 3 days over Christmas. I loved the peace and tranquility. The Roof top Zen garden was nice especially at night. There were relaxation rooms and coin operated laundry rooms. The rooms were small but that was to be expected, clean and minimalistic. Nightwear and slippers are provided. The Gardens and water feature outside the Hotel are lovely. The area was quiet yet close to shops and places to eat. I've seen some negative comments about the breakfast which is optional. We ate breakfast at a local coffee shop 2 mins walk away. We were in Japan for 12 days and this was by far the favourite place to stay.

Changes have been made..some good, some not so good

Reviewed 2 january, 2023

Notable changes since the last time I stayed before the pandemic. Firstly they have implemented a self check-in system that seems to still require a lot of hand-holding by staff to work through the process. I cannot fathom where the benefits are for both parties. I preferred the personalised service before. Secondly, they have added a new room category, called signature. Whilst the rooms look very nice, I find some of the design not functional. The desk is unusable, no leg room, low to the ground and no desk space. Sofa is overly large and not comfortable with no back support apart from the wooden ledge/window of the bathroom. The bathroom though, i think was done well and ticks all the boxes. My question for management is why they put their highest category room in front of the lift lobby, smack bang in the highest traffic area? I am someone prone to noise and this position doesn't help. Whilst i see that they are attempting to innovate and update, I am not sure the investments were put in the right area. I will still continue to use this hotel but will probably revert to the other category rooms in future as I always had a good experience in them.

LOVED HOTEL NIWA!

Reviewed 26 december, 2022

Hotel Niwa exceeded my expectations. What an amazing place to land on my first trip to Japan. I loved the calming, minimalist design of the public spaces and the room! I appreciated the big bathroom and great amenities. After running around sightseeing in Tokyo, it was a joy to return to this peaceful, beautiful place. I particularly loved using the massage chairs on the 3rd floor. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to everyone I know who is planning a trip to Tokyo.
