I had heard that this was a good place to come with children so we booked two interconnecting one bedroom suites for our family of four. This was not the cheapest nor the most expensive hotel of our French road trip, but I can categorically say it represented the worst value for money. I understand that some rooms have been renovated and some haven't. We received the rooms that hadn't. The rooms were spacious but decor was dated and furnishings were sparse and basic. The table and chairs in our lounge resembled cheap corporate office furniture. No imagination or sense of style has been injected into these interiors for many years. Luxury this isn't. I heard that this used to be a Four Seasons hotel and this was evident in the bathroom which was also dated but on the plus side possessed a FS deep soaking bath. The toiletries in the bathroom were stingy and far from luxurious with shower gel and shampoo drilled to the wall in the shower and above the sink. If you wished to use the bath, you had to get up and walk across to the shower to take a couple of pumps of shower gel! Why? Due to Covid the fine dining restaurant was closed which was disappointing. Instead everyone had to eat outside in the one restaurant in the evening. Service was slow and smoking was in abundance. There were no designated smoking and non smoking areas. Food was distinctly average. The children's buffet was incredibly poor. Breakfast was a served buffet, which involved a long queue while each person pointed to what they would like. The choice of food on offer was limited compared to other five star hotels we stayed in on this trip. My children wanted to try out the kids club but did not wish to go for a whole session without looking at it first. Apparently due to covid this was not allowed. Neither would anyone drive me down to check on them during their time there. Instead I I had to walk down (about 15 mins walk) and find my way to the club to ask if I could see them. As a mother I found it deeply unnerving to be denied access to my own children. Needless to say they did not return to kids club. The swimming pool whilst pleasant was over crowded and very difficult to get a bed. I really wanted to love this place. It has all the ingredients to be a fabulous five star resort but it just fell short. It is too run down and odd covid policies made this place quite an uncomfortable stay.
Second visit and even better this time!

If you scroll down you can read my previous review from Summer 2020. We were out there last August with our kids when the British government decided that we had to return home within 24 hours or go into quarantine on our return. Rather sadly we had to leave with three nights to go, but on checkout I was very surprised that the hotel, in a supreme act of generosity, offered us a voucher for the remaining nights. France was still in some complicated Amber plus zone for most of the summer, so leaving the kids at home (don't worry they weren't alone and they're teenagers anyway), we snuck off in early October for another three nights at this gorgeous place. It's conveniently located about an hour from Nice Airport. As it was low season we were able to book a lovely Premiere Villa which was very spacious with two bathrooms - very handy for when my husband and I wanted showers at the same time. The bed was very comfortable and the Fragonard toiletries (Fragonard is one of the perfumers in nearby Grasse) smelt divine. In my previous review I said the vegetarian food was a bit disappointing but they certainly seemed to have taken my comments on board. One night we had the Gourmet menu (I lost count of how many courses it was!) and they prepared a super delicious vegetarian version for me. On our last night we had the Gaudina menu which I think changes every night (I wish we'd had it on the first night to be honest) which was also absolutely brilliant and even better was they had a vegetarian option right there on the menu so I didn't have to pre-order it. My husband is a carnivore and was also delighted with his offerings. We eat at a lot of great restaurants and have a famous one Michelin star restaurant a five minute walk from our house, but this was right up there with some of the best food we've had. Really excellent and with lovely wait staff too. Breakfast was also really good. We played tennis a couple of times on their courts which were very good quality and they give you racquets (we brought ours), balls, water and towels. I also visited the spa which was gorgeous with a lovely indoor pool but with a glass roof so light-filled and a large warm outdoor hydrotherapy pool with jets so strong it's hard to stand up! There are also a sauna, steam room, and warm/hot room plus ice and showers but I unfortunately didn't have time to use these. We were very lucky with the weather - the weather app said it was 21 degrees but by the pool in the sun it was really quite hot and the main outdoor pool was heated to a gorgeous inviting temperature. We also found the jacuzzi which we had missed the previous trip. Oh and I should say we had the pool pretty much to ourselves. Terre Blanche is quite unusual in that it has the feel of the sort of resort you get in the Indian Ocean/Far East but at the same time it is distinctly European. It's quite steep and spread out so if you have mobility issues you would have to call a buggy, but it has lovely views over the valley and walking along the paths, taking in the aroma of the plants, feels heavenly. I need to mention the concierge Gregory who is extremely helpful and absolutely charming. He recommended a trip out to a village called St Paul de Vance which was stunning and well worth the drive. With Nice being only a short flight from the UK, Terre Blanche is the absolute perfect place if you want to go and recharge your batteries. We were only away for three nights but when we got home I felt like we'd been away a week or more. I'm sure we'll be back.
2 night stay (with a vegan in our family)

Just returned from a 2 night stay. Our only regret is not staying longer. Our family of 4 (all adults) had a Premier Villa interconnecting with a Premier Suite, which gave us 3 bathrooms. Contacted concierge in advance for assistance in dining with a vegan (previous experience a nightmare in France!) plus a day out with a guide and electric bikes (we highly recommend that as they arranged wine, olive and cheese tasting on an incredible route!!) - honestly the most helpful concierges! So knowledgeable and literally nothing too much trouble. Vegan food utterly delicious at the hotel (thank you to the chefs!!), especially when the weather on our 1st night meant we couldn’t get to our chosen restaurant and the hotel unexpectedly had us eating there. Every single member of staff - the restaurant team, reception team, concierges, buggy drivers, gardeners, housekeeping, room service - all were outstanding. We will definitely be back - for longer next time!

This is the simplest review Ive every written. Wonderful. Quite simply an excellent hotel, with FANTASTIC staff, not one exception, each smiled, was engaging and wanted to ensure our stay was as relaxing and stress free as it was possible to be. We had a golf voucher for two nights, two rounds, and regretted we hadn't thought to extend the stay. Fantastic golf facilities, immaculate (if challenging) golf courses, superb pool and bars etc , delightful breakfast etc. Having stayed in many lovely hotels, this has to be in the top 2 or 3 EVER, certainly the nicest golf resort. Cannot wait to return.
Fabulous hotel. We love it. Gorgeous, great service with a couple of lapses. Expensive but recommended.

We love this hotel. It is utterly beautiful, surrounded by stunning hill villages. The rooms are outstanding and the pool terrific. Shame that the pool restaurant was closed for most of our stay. Breakfast was excellent with good food and service. The Gaudina restaurant is great, but ridiculously expensive. It cost four times more than any other restaurant we went to. Only niggles were poor room service in that most days water and glasses were not delivered as they should have been. Cotton buds etc were rarely replaced. Concierge snd reception could not have been better or more helpful. Otherwise highly recommended.
