Great place to lay your head at night
We have had to travel thru St Louis 5 times since March, pandemic in place. We chose this hotel every time because we found them to be a good rate, very clean and conscientious during the pandemic in keeping social distancing, a very clean hotel and rooms that are super clean and comfortable. Concierge lounge was open our 1sr time, was very nicely handled. Since then most things are closed in the hotel but they put together a nice carry out breakfast. Just overall are handling everything safely and nicely. Great place! Thank you!
Coping Well With COViD
Was there on essential travel for nearly two weeks during the pandemic. The staff were amazing. Ben (daytime office manager?) was positively fantastic, consistently going above and beyond to ensure I had an everything I needed and was always friendly and welcoming - as were his front desk colleagues Mel (Melanie? Melinda?) during the day and Biff in the evening, who was always proactively offering a "welcome back" smile and a bottle or two of water after a long, busy day. John, the bartender was brilliant at keeping up with customers' orders with a smile & positive attitude. The hotel does very well to cope with the Covid situation and the understandable closure of their club lounge & restaurant. There are fresh, free, healthy, grab & go breakfast options all carefully wrapped and presented, and it's available from early to late morning, which was great for flexible morning meeting schedules. In the evenings, Plat guests got $20 daily f & b credits at the lobby bar, which was plenty to cover the costs of their delicious food and a drink or two. Across my stay, I tried most of the options on the understandably short menu there, all fresh & tasty, with the Nashville Chicken and Sweet Potato fries being a particular favourite. Jacuzzi, indoor pool, and outdoor pool facilities are excellent for a hotel, as was the well-equipped fitness centre, with gym-quality equipment. There's a nice footpath around a wooded lake at the property as well, with one trail leading to a small pine forest with picnic tables. Other than the beautiful trails, there's not much within walking distance in terms of shops or restaurants, but the hotel has an excellent location for getting around by car, right at the intersections of Hwy 141 and I-64, and one exit from I-270, so it's very easy to get around the St. Louis area,. It's a good business/meetings/conference type hotel, not a charming boutique getaway hotel, so expect to be to business and meeting and venues than area tourist attractions, but those are within very easy reach. There was plenty of free parking at the hotel. I was graciously up upgraded to a huge, spacious suite on the top floor with a grand view of the lake. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had a spacious shower as well as a plenty of counter-space for setting your stuff on. Very minor things for a future business traveller to just be aware of (and not at all criticisms): there's no desk or proper desk chair for working, but the dining table and chairs, facing the view, worked out well in a pinch. It would have been nice to have plugs/charging ports by the bedside, or even just a few more plugs or charging ports in the room overall for that matter would have been helpful. There's also not a full length mirror in the room, nor a shaving/make-up mirror in the bathroom. The room and hallways were a bit dated, and the staff also commented to that affect, but that's just a matter of taste - and great if you like 70's yellow vintage :). Per COViD restrictions, housekeeping won't service your room during your stay, but they were absolutely happy to replace or re-stock anything you needed (towels, amenities) and were wonderfully happy & helpful whenever encountered. Again, it was the fantastic staff that made for a fantastic stay, and the hotel's COViD food & beverage and facilities offerings were very generous, especially compared to other Marriott branded properties. I'd absolutely stay there again when in St. Louis.
Anniversary night
We came to celebrate our 18 wedding anniversary. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub the customer service was top notch had a problem with the remote within 20 min the problem solved ask for more towels in 10 min i had them don't stay at hotel often but always pick a Marriott branded hotel always treat as I stay with them 300 times a year as apposed to the 3 or 4 I do great place and brand
Great
We got this hotel blindly through PriceLine. What a great property. Highly recommend. Front desk very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping cheerful and friendly. Parking was close, free and available. Nice view of a small lake on one side.
Nice room. Great breakfast staff.
We stayed here a few nights while in town for soft ball games. The room was nice. But no microwave? ( I like to make popcorn at night sometimes) we had breakfast in the morning. The young black man (can’t remember name (getting old) was very friendly and helpful. I can’t say enough good things about him. He was great with all the diners. When my grand daughter had an early game (before breakfast room opened) he made her a take along breakfast so she could have something light to eat before her game. Very thoughtful. Good employee.
