Great hotel with a great ocean and lake view

Despite that the hotel closed the spa and pool due to the pandemic, the hot spring bath was nice and relaxing. Our room wasn't ready when we went to check in and we were told that take a some time. My friend wasn't very impressed with the staff at the front desk. While sipping on a cup of complimenary coffee, we decided to go down to the town for a bite to eat. We were rather mobile since we rented a car. The considerable delay in being shown to our rooms would've been unacceptable had we been stuck at the hotel with no means to get around. The bed was comfortable, bathroom roomy, and the breakfast was excellent. That breakfast made up for any mishaps during checking in. It was a pity that the ocean started to cloud over just as the sun was setting. There were some clouds on the lake side during sunrise, but still, the view was amazing. Renting a car is recommended, since the hotel is pretty far from the airport and sits at the top of a mountain. There's nothing else within the immediate vicinity. コロナの影響でスパやプールが閉まっていましたが温泉だけでも十分堪能できました。 訪れた日がとても忙しかったせいか、お部屋の準備ができておらず、大変時間がかかりました。友人はフロントの対応に不満を感じていました。レンタカーがありましたので、下の温泉街まで食事をしに行きました。さすがに戻った頃にはお部屋に案内されました。 朝食やパンはとても美味しかったです。 洞爺湖と海の景色が楽しめるホテルです。夕日や朝日がとてもきれいでした。 山の山頂にあり、ホテルの近辺に何も無いので、レンタカーをおすすめします。

Great location, family destination!

It was a very beautiful nice hotel with breathtaking views to Towa lake. What a relaxing experience, feeling very peaceful and refreshing. The low point here is that price for some service is ridiculously high.

There are really two hotels here. One is for the folks who book the suites on the upper floors and pay for the golf package. I’m sure their experience is fine. For the rest, the ones that pay “only” $400 per night for a room, you get very unpleasant staff. As in: ignore you or gives you an aggrieved face of “sorry we can’t help” when you ask basic things like “where can we take a walk?” Or “why can’t I go in the lounge right next to the reception area”. Oh yeah, that lounge is for the “executive members” only. Want to see the pretty view from the 11th floor? Sorry, that’s not included in your booking category, etc. Amenities that are advertised in the booklet in our very room turn out to be off limits. Others have commented already on the embarrassing state of some the facilities including the hot spring and outdoor terraces. Since the grounds are mostly taken up by a golf course, you can only walk along the paved road around the hotel, not into anything you would call “nature”. I’m not sure how this hotel has five stars and no concierge desk but there’s not one. At least not one we were allowed to access. The French restaurant was fine, but wine list was stupidly overpriced. Most diners we saw seemed to be nursing their single bottles of 15$ “Local” beer. Pity because the menu would benefit from proper wine pairings. We were offered only 2 options for white wine by the glass, a Hokkaido wine and an unknown languedoc one. What?

I feel extremely disappointed for this hotel

The worst resort and hotel that I have ever stayed in Japan in the past 10 years. The reception guy Hachiya 八栄 is really unpolite and know nothing. I feel so sorry for myself to pay this money and have this kind of hospitality. Never come back again for sure.

Awful service！

The high end price doesn’t mean high level service. The receptionist made a mistake about our dinner reservation for sushi and can’t rearrange it again, finally we got a very awful buffet in a basement, they didn't even offer the juice and beer on the buffet, you need pay for the beverages additionally. Worst day in this trip, very disappointed😣.
