Horrible , old and rundown !!!
We arrived for 1 night and it's was honestly awful half the hotel had no water so we were moved to the other end of the hotel outside our room there was some kind of leak where they had just put a towel on the floor and a exposed fuse box with a towel stuffed on top of it which is a serious fire risk ( please see pictures) . We went to the restaurant that night for food and we were very disappointed the menu was ok at best but with the staff talking about her weekend plans, the damp patch on the ceiling ,the rotten windows and peeling paint on the radiators like most of the hotel it didn't make for a nice atmosphere .This is not our first time at this hotel but it doesn't look like it has had any upkeep for years which is a shame because it is very convenient for the airport but unfortunately we will not be staying here again .
Awful
No water in bedroom had to wash in the spa area Room smelt so many people complaining at reception and moving hotels Cracked sinks Toilets don’t flush properly so always have poo in them No sanitary bins in any of the toilets Missing or broken lamp shades Uneven flooring Dark conference room lights just awful Stained ceiling tiles And I’ve not even been here 10 mins! The staff are pleasant and have a job putting up with this apart from when I informed one the toilets needed cleaning and the response was they are clean!! Er no the toilets all have poo in them!! this place needs knocking down and rebuilding whoever gives 5 stars has never been to a 5 star or is partially sighted !! Plus the fire exit needs condemning I don’t think they have ever been checked they have moss on them god forbid anyone slips or has to use them. I could go on but there is just too much wrong with it
Best 25th Wedding Anniversary Party!
My wife and I booked our 25th Wedding Anniversary party at the Bowdon and what an awesome time we had end to end! The hotel team couldn’t do enough to make our evening and stay perfect. We were looked after by the duty managers Dan and Luciano who ensured everything ran smoothly- excellent customer service guys! Hotel Venue: It was a perfect location for our friends and family to attend and stay at the hotel. We booked the Cheshire Suite for 80 guests for our party with a buffet meal in the evening. The food was plentiful and was excellent - the feedback from our guests was the food was outstanding - special thank you to Chef Karl and his team. The bar staff did a fantastic job during the evening, special thank you to Louise and team for her patience serving our many guests! Breakfast team - special thank you to Luciano and Martin for our excellent breakfast and restaurant service the morning after the night before. All in all couldn’t fault anything during our event and hotel stay, all staff are an absolute credit to the Mecure Bowdon hotel Well done!
Nice experience but certain improvements needed
I visited the Bowden over the weekend. The hotel was very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. I was attending a function there and the food was of a high standard. The hotel rooms were extremely clean & the beds were extremely comfortable. I think the only downside to the hotel is that the windows in the rooms could be opened fully and there for a long drop to the pavement below. Also there is lack of facilities for disabled from the function room there was no toilet facilities on that floor. Steep steps which I think any disabled person would struggle. So this is something to consider if your planning on visit here. But on the whole. A pleasant experience.
Everything you need
Just stopped in this hotel for three nights, welcoming reception staff. Very clean and tidy room. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast and again welcoming friendly staff. It’s even got a spa, with a nice pool area, sauna & steam room. A great hotel at an excellent price, which even included bottled water and coke. It’s just a short walk into the town centre which has a great selection of pubs and restaurants. If I need to go to the area again I will definitely be stopping at this hotel.
