Perfect location for a couples get-a-way. Steps away from food, shops and entertainment. Standard king room on west side of historical tower (noted as city view) had beautiful view of TC and the bay. Very light staffed like most places these days. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Clean room but could use a deep clean (vents, window sills, etc.). The view and location make this a definite return.
Great place to stay!

If you like historic hotels, this is the place for you. Conveniently located in downtown Traverse City, within in walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars, the park and beach at Traverse Bay, and more. While the hotel is historic, it’s also updated, comfortable, and clean. Registration desk personnel were friendly, kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

Pros: The hotel is ok overall; good location, one block to Front Street and all it has to offer. Free parking, decent breakfast at Minerva. Cons: However, there are several points to keep in mind before you book: bathroom in our room was small and quite outdated, there was a visible crack on the side of the toilet and a couple of mildew spots along the bathtub seal; the bathroom exhaust fan was not adjustable, it was constantly running and was annoyingly loud. Bottom line: it is not worth the money we paid.

My husband and I are spending two nights at this hotel where we had our honeymoon dinner 55 years ago. What a disappointment. When I checked in the woman at the front was most unpleasant. Not a word of welcome or a smile. Today the man at the front desk was equally surly. When I remarked that I have never felt less welcome in years of travel and that no one had so much as smiled at us, he remarked that they were working too hard which apparently means you can be as surly as you wish. When we had called about food service in early August, we were told Minervas would be serving dinner by the time we arrived. NO BREAKFAST AND NO DINNER. which was our whole reason for staying here. Asked for coffee pods this morning and none by 5:30 PM. There is no reason they couldn’t have coffee in the lobby in the morning. So expensive for very poor service.
Too bad I can leave a lower score

We recently had the abject misfortune of staying at this hotel. Some of the issues we minor, others decidedly were not. My wife and I stayed from September 11-15th, 2021. Our postage stamp room (409) was barely adequate and lacked any of the amenities that we are used to (especially at this price point). We both found the staff off-putting. Never a welcome, or a Hi or how-are-you, good morning-- nothing. Every time we asked for something it seemed like an inconvenience. As frustrating as that was the room was a complete disaster. First the little stuff-- pictures accompanying. There were three hangers in the room!?! One of the lights in the bathroom was out. And the faucet was missing the H/C cap. While there was a vent and a warming lamp, there were not controls... Now the big stuff. The bathroom was FILTHY. Most of the ceiling tiles are either moldy or at the very least very dusty. The ceiling vent is filthy. There appears to be mold on the ceiling hangers. And the most egregious, please look on top of the tub-surround. There is at least a quarter-inch of filth around the entire tub! Just gross... We reported same on day two. Nothing was done... I get that staffing is an issue, but wow, nothing prepared us for this experience. We will never recommend this hotel... just the worst experience. Lastly, Minerva (the only restaurant at the complex) was open one morning during our stay. The breakfast was good and the waitstaff was friendly and quite good.
